*jocelyn* November 10, opening night
I rushed into the dressing room, only running a few minutes late, and slammed the door behind me. Andrea whipped her head toward me with a startled look on her face.
"Nobody saw you?" She asked
"Nobody saw me." I confirmed
"Then you weren't late!" We celebrated for a few seconds
I set my bag down under the countertop after pulling out my water-bottle and phone. I shot Mike a text that I ha dmaxd it safely. We texted back for a few minutes before I actually had to get ready.
"Opening night!" Andrea gushed
"I know! I'm nervous." I pulled my hair back to start my makeup
"Is Mike coming?"
"I don't know. We're both really busy with shows and rehearsals and the wedding. If he wasn't here I wouldn't be surprised." I beat foundation onto my face
"Yeah, do you want him here?"
"Obviously! But he can obviously catch other shows."
We talked while applying makeup and putting on our costumes. We were practically bouncing off the walls in excitement and nerves. I left the dressing room to go to the hair department and met Britt on the way. We entered hair and sat down in the two chairs. Libby, a hairstylist, worked on pulling my hair back into a high ponytail. Once she had achieved that, she clipped in spiked hair accessory. I thanked Libby and walked back to the dressing room.
The call for five minutes to curtain came on. Andrea and I giddily walked to the stage. We stood in the wings until all of the lights went down and the band started the play-on. We walked silently to our places. The familiar drum beat and keyboard chords sounded. And Dia started us off.
. . .
"We're Six!" We hit our ending pose; which wouldn't be the actual ending
"New York City! Do you wanna hear one more song?" I yelled into my mic and the crowd roared
"Oh, come on! We said are you ready?" I spoke again
We started MegaSix, which is one of my personal favorites, and ended with Anna taking a photo with her phone. There would be two photos taken every night from the stage. One by Andrea in the beginning of her song, and the second by Anna of all of us. We headed back to the front of the stage and took our bow. We left the stage with energy but once we were off that was gone.
Obviously, we were still excited but we were tired. This show was 200% energy, 200% of the time! But we loved it. Once back in the dressing room we sat around for a little bit. Andrea and I decided to take some pictures before they cleaned up the stage. We headed back up there and took some pictures for Instagram. Once we were done, we changed back into our normal clothes and turned it out mic and hair stuff.
I rushed to stage door and was bombarded with the amount of people. I did the stage-door things and headed back inside. I opened the door and there sat Mike. I rushed into his arms and bounced up and down slightly.
"What're you doing here?" I laughed
"I came to see you!"
I pulled away and pulled him into Andreas chair. She had left a few minutes ago.
"Was it good?"
"It was... really good! You were amazing!"
"Yeah?"
"Yeah!"
I packed my stuff up and we left the theatre together. We caught a cab back home, exhausted. I pretty much fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. Before, however, we ordered some food and watched a t.v show neither one of us really cared about.
