📘Chapter 5📚

Eleanor's Pov:
Lily stuck true to her word. She introduced me to her friends, Alice Fortescue,Sasha Monnet,Marlene McKinnon, Donna Shacklebolt, and Mary Macdonald.
I was closer to Lily's main friend group consisting of Marlene,Mary. And Alice.

"So...Eleanor, ya okay? I mean you get picked on like everyday." Mary drawled out. Way to put it lightly. We were all in our uniform currently laying on the grass on the courtyard. "Would you be okay if people teased you everyday?" I rebuttal. It was a rhetorical question. She just goes on,"I'm just saying cause personally I wouldn't have the patience to deal with that." I rolled my eyes. We were all kinda piled on top of each other. Marlene was laid down with Mary spread eagle right next to her left and me laying diagonal on her right where I was atop Lily's chest. Alice was with a man named Frank apparently which is why she isn't here. "What's the plan?" Marlene asked. "I don't know...Lily was the one who suggested we should have one in the first place." I shrugged. Lily gawked at me as if I told a horrendous secret.

"Really Eleanor!" She spanked my arse, is that what girls normally do? "I just thought we should help Ellie. I mean you know how I am." Lily made a face towards the other girls and they seemingly got a hint that I didn't even know to pick up. "I think if we get the marauders first people will follow in their footsteps and leave you alone." Lily assessed with her eyebrow furrowed. I nodded. It made sense. They were extremely popular and girls and guys and non-binary people followed in their footsteps. "Ya think if we come at James first he'll start a domino effect. We can get you to take Lily away from him." Mary sassed as she thought of a pissy Potter. "I already did." I giggled at her. I basically did. Lily is working against James and with me.

It felt nice to be wanted. In a way I felt like we were all connected and not in the way where all of our feet our touching with our legs tangled together but in a friendship way. For once I feel safe, I felt protected not a protector like I would be with my brother.
I was still on Lily's chest so I saw the black lake on the horizon and I could hear light footsteps. Marlene kicked my foot so I turned around twisting my neck to look forward. There was the marauders we were talking about. With no discussed plan we all didn't know what to do.

"Look who it is..little miss know-it-all and her posse of...LILY-" Sirius exclaimed. He turned around seemingly trying to discreetly warn James.  James seemed to have gotten the hint because he stopped right in front of us. I blinked once, I blinked twice and all of a sudden I was lifted from the ground not all the way but enough to have to stand on the tips of my toes. "James! Stop! Put her down!" Lily shouted. "Merlin, don't you guys have anything better to do than to bully a stranger." Mary retorted at them with a glare. Marlene and the other girls quickly got up as if that was going to help my situation. "Why are you hanging with my Lily flower?" James demanded like the twat he is. My hands were on top of his which were currently on my collar. "Don't know," I expressed shrugging my shoulders looking bored. "Maybe it's because-" I looked him directly in his eyes. "She likes me better." I gave a quick smug look.

"Lily tell him you love him or something or else he'll probably mess her up." Lupin said as if he actually cared. "Why should I?" Lily asked. I mean I'm glad she's not admitting feelings for someone she doesn't like but I mean come on say something or I will get my shit rocked. I'm not exactly the best at physical fights and these boys don't seem far from picking one. I looked at Lily confused and so did Marlene and Mary.
James looked at me smugly as of saying that although she didn't say she liked him it was probably because she wasn't on my side. My  doubt was quickly cured when she continued, " I mean she isn't lying. I do like her better." Lily said. I thanked Merlin for having her on my side because James let me go after her saying that. "Lily flower you don't mean that. I mean you really want to be with this freak rather than me." James got on his knees and complained. "I swear you do the most pathetic things." I laughed. "I do them in the name of love." James retorted. Marlene walked to me and gave me a little hug and Mary continued to glare the boys down but they obviously were immune to her scary-arse glare because they started walking towards me. "James it's okay, Lily will soon see how much of a loser she is after we give her a make over." Sirius smirked as he motioned Peter over.

Just now I noticed paint cans?
I must've blanked out looking at the cans because I have been lying flat on the ground now. "You're right Sirius. Let's show my Lily flower how nice we are. Giving a loser a make over and all that." James said giving Sirius a slap on the back. " What are you trying to do!" Lily blurted out. "Just having a little fun Lily. Just to show you that James is obviously the better choice." Sirius responded. Lupin's lanky body just stood behind Lily the whole time. Just now I focused sorely on Lupin. He had his wand out and he murmured, "Confundus," Now I felt a little dizzy and I knew I was incoherent with my surrounding because people were yelling stop and I felt wet?

"Rowan I must ask you to get up," said a voice. my vision more clearer showed none other than Professor Mcgonagall. I sat up and then slowly stood up. "I made them leave," She said as she patted my shoulder.
Merlin this is embarrassing. I'm covered in paint and found on the floor by my Professor. "You may go get cleaned up. Let me escort you." Coaxed Professor Mcgonagall. She lead me to the Ravenclaw common room. A pat on my head is what I felt before she left. Honestly Professor Mcgonagall is probably going to be my favorite teacher from now on.
