BTS' previous work "BOY IN LUV" reached 4th in the Weekly Single Ranking! Now, with even more vigor, the South Korean boys group Bangtan Sonyeondan is releasing their long-awaited 3rd Japanese single "Danger-Japanese Ver.-" With how much their previous release gained popularity, this time it's a comeback! ――BTS' 3rd Japanese single "Danger-Japanese Ver.-" really gives the impression of a dangerous man, with an intense hip hop number unique to BTS.JIN : In Korean, you say "a man among men" as "Sangnamja" but in "Danger-Japanese Ver.-", the meaning of "Sangnamja" differs a bit. "Even though I really love you, why don't you love me back?" It's a song showing the resentment of a man facing a bad relationship.V : A warning to your lover!
――This work is not directed towards adults, but rather a warning towards your lover?V : Yes, that's right!
――"Danger" was released in August as a part of your first full album "DARK&WILD" and was newly recorded in Japan. How did the recording go?SUGA : "Danger" Korean version was recorded in America. For "Danger-Japanese Ver.-", we had KM-MARKIT (having helped us with our previous work) help write the Japanese lyrics. He gave us a lot of advice so we were able to achieve a fun recording.
――This has become the third time recording in Japanese. Are you growing accustomed to it?All : (immediate reply) No (laughs).JIMIN : To tell you the truth, up until now this song was the hardest in regards to pronounciation.All : Yes, it's true.
――Which part was especially difficult?J-HOPE : Naturally, Korean and Japanese pronunciation differ but,
while making the best of my Korean accent, expressing in Japanese was really difficult.JIN : Particularly, I struggled at the "mou kotaerarenai" part. Up until now, we've been singing in Korean, and so we've held a responsibility to uphold a certain image and we're able to match the finer details of the language closely, but since it's really different this time, if you don't remember the small nuances/details, you're in trouble.JUNG KOOK : Rapping the "kiku kedo" part of "kiku kedo hibikanai shinzou ni" was especially hard.
――Reciting one's lines well is of great importance, isn't it.All : (saying the line badly on purpose) "Kiku kedo~"V : "Kiku kedo~" (cough cough) (cut off his voice while saying this)
――(laughs).JIMIN : I'm always worrying that our singing voices won't properly relay the message to the Japanese fans. But, at the time of the MV shooting, after completing "Danger-Japanese Ver.-" and listening to it for the first time, you could hear the beautiful pronunciation. "I'm glad we recorded really well!" was what I thought.
