Max looked around at the large space, filled with people and tables, music and food, it was all so.. fancy? She couldn't pin that as the exact word she was looking for but it could definitely be an adjective for it.. she turned her attention back to the Chase family, who were seated across the table from her, with Victoria to her right. Max tuned in to the conversation until her mind wandered thinking back to yesterday's encounter with Victoria.

"Isn't that right, Max?" Victoria gave Max an under the table nudge with her elbow to help bring the brunette back into the present."Oh- Yeah.." Max gave a dry laugh, taking a sip of water from her glass as Victoria carried on with the conversation.
Max tried again to focus on what Victoria was saying until the thick flash of a hot, sweet fragrance, almost pink- a shade of maroon that she had never noticed before seemed to engulf her senses. The alpha leaned back in her chair, practically shellshocked. A steady exhale leaving her parted lips before taking a deep, shameless inhale through her nose.
Max squeezed her eyes shut, the sounds around her now seemingly accentuated, the clinking of the fancy silverware, the usually unheard scraping of a knife cutting down against the surface of a plate. Max clenched her fists as she tried to keep her composure.
The tables conversation had now shifted to talk amongst Victoria's parents, giving the girl a chance to notice Max's unusual expression and tensed body. "Max? Are you alri-" Victoria started when Max abruptly stood up, the blonde withdrawing her previously outstretched arm.
"I have to use the restroom, I'll be right back." Max politely excused herself to the table before hurrying to the building's public restrooms.
Max entered the women's bathroom and headed for the sink, turning the faucet to cold when she heard the door open behind her. She briefly checked the mirror to see Victoria.
Max sighed taking a moment to think about her next words before she turned around to face Victoria. "Victoria, I'm sorry but.. I have to leave.."
"You have to leave? For what? I thought we had an agreement for tonight." Victoria crossed her arms.
"I.. forgot to water Lisa" Max expressed.
Victoria scoffed. "Really? That's why you have to leave?" Victoria walked closer to Max, stepping carefully, as though she was approaching a deer in the forest. "That's the only reason?"
"Well.." Max's words trailed off when she noticed a hint of what she'd smelled earlier. Victoria advanced closer until she was right in front of her peer with Max subtly pushing back against the sink behind her in a weak attempt at making some space between them. Victoria gently pressed her body up against Max's, who took a slow, focused inhale from the sudden pressure that was now applied to her front. "Victoria.." Max closed her eyes as Victoria's hand made it's way down, passing through the space between Max's torso and arm, Victoria's chest firmly against Max's, her opposite arm reaching around to hug the brunette's waist and Max realized the white noise she'd been ignoring behind her was now gone.
Max opened her eyes to see Victoria receding from their previous position. "..." Max looked over her shoulder at the sink, her face and ears instantly flushing red hot at the realization that Victoria was just turning off the sink for her. "What's wrong, Maxine?" Victoria cooed.
