Derek slipped through the streets, following Marcus. The deputy whipped around to face him what do you want he asked. I want you to drop the suit Derek said. And why would I do that? Marcus asked. Because Argent said, appearing out of the shadows on the other side of the street, effectively boxing Marcus. If you don't, we'll tell Stlinski and everyone else what we found out about where you were those missing four years Argent said. You wouldn't, Marcus hissed. She's my ki. There's just about nothing I wouldn't do for her, Argent said, and I think we both know what Derek would do. His idea was just to make you disappear, but you're pretty good at that yourself. So what you're going to do is drop the suit and disappear, leaving Beacon Hills, Lexie, and Evelyn alone, Derek said. Or everyone finds out your dirty little secret. You have until midnight tomorrow Argent said, walking over to join Derek. The two walked away. You know she'd kill us if she ever found out what we just did, right Derek said. Yeah we better make sure she never finds out Argent told him getting into his car.
Malia! Evelyn shouted, jogging to catch up to the werecoyote. Can I talk to you for a minute she asked. Not if you're going to give me the speech about staying away from Peter Malia said. I'm not Evelyn said I probably should knowing him I should tell you to run and never look back but I also know what it's like to loose family to loose a mother you desperately want any connection to family. What I'm saying is give Peter a chance. He might surprise you, might surprise us all, Evelyn said. You want me to trust Peter, the homicidal nut job? Malia asked. Trust no. Give him a chance to earn that trust, yes, Evelyn said. Trust is something that should be earned, Evelyn said, but sometimes, for it to be earned, you have to give people a chance. Even people like Peter. Malia asked. Even Peter, Evelyn said, turning to walk away. Why Malia called. What Evelyn asked why ask me to give him a chance Malia said. Because, in a way, I understand him. Evelyn said I understand his want for revenge, and once I shared that the only difference between the two of us is that Peter doesn't feel remorse for what he did, Evelyn said, walking off.
Evelyn woke up to the sound of the alarm buzzing. Derek, who lay next to her, his arms wrapped around her, was tensed, staring at the alarm box. Evelyn, he said quietly. She slipped out of bed, grabbing her gun, which was leaning up against the wall, as Derek did the same. They shared a glance before both checking the room. Evelyn saw a shadow under the door, and she tilted her head, catching Derek's eye. She nodded toward the door. He nodded, and they both turned, heading for the door. Derek slid it open to reveal a drenched Lydia. The banshee let out a loud scream before stumbling and falling to the ground. Lydia Evelyn said, rushing forward, her gun forgotten on the floor. She wrapped her arms around the girl, pulling her inside. Evelyn, where Lydia mumbled. It's OK, Lyds, you're fine, Evelyn said, setting Lydia down on the couch. Lydia looked past her at Derek I'm sorry she said. Evelyn looked back at Derek sadly. They both knew what it meant: Lydia showing up here the Deadpool was over, but he was still marked for death.
I'll see you later, and FYI, Scott's at the door, Evelyn said as she walked to the door holding Lexie's hand. See you later Derek said with a smile.
Evelyn walked into Argent's apartment, looking around. She had dropped Lexie off at school, and her father had called asking her to come and meet him. He wanted to talk about Kate. Dad! She called, walking into the living room. Something caught her eye: a small necklace sitting on the coffee table. Evelyn stepped forward, kneeling down. She gasped as she got a better look. It was a small gold chain with a simple ring on it. A ring Evelyn recognized she had made it during an art workshop when she was ten and given it to Kate. When she'd gone looking through Kate's things a few months ago, the ring had been missing. She'd just assumed Kate had thrown it away years ago. Evelyn had always told herself that the Kate Argent she had given that ring to was no more; she was gone. But now she realized Kate had kept it her father must have knocked the necklace off when they were fighting. But where was he? Evelyn wondered. She looked at the papers that surrounded the necklace he must have found something some way to track Kate. Evelyn stopped looking up as her phone rang. It was Peter. Evelyn Peter said I just went to the animal clinic Deaton's not there. And why do you care? Evelyn asked, slightly worried, remembering that he was supposed to go see Valak. I'm trying to be better for Malia Peter said. Honestly, Evelyn said I don't believe you, but. But you're going to check on him anyway? Peter asked. Yes, Evelyn said, getting up and rushing out of the room. She noticed the feeling that someone was in trouble but just put it down to being Deaton.
Evelyn rushed into eichen house. Ignoring the desk clerk's shouts, she ran into the back. Stop! A security guard yelled. It's alright someone said. Evelyn looked up to see Deaton's doctor friend. You're here for him, aren't you he asked. He's in trouble, Evelyn said. He already went to see Valak. He's not waking up. Can you wake him? I can try, Evelyn said. She could feel panic coursing through her. Evelyn figured it was just the fact that she was worried about Derek and Deaton being the only one who might be able to save him. Suddenly, Lydia appeared next to her. Evelyn froze suddenly realizing something it's not just Deaton, she whispered it's a trick. We need to wake him to figure out what's going on Lydia said, taking Evelyn's hand. The two walked into Deaton's room. Evelyn instantly went to his side. It's not physical, she said. Let me talk to him Lydia said. He's not responding to any stimuli. You can talk to him, but there's no way of telling if he's actually hearing it or not, the doctor said. Trust me on this Lydia said he'll hear me. Evelyn moved over, letting Lydia talk to Deaton. What is she the doctor asked Evelyn? Nothing that concerns you Evelyn said as Deaton shifted his breathing getting more rapid. Suddenly, he sat up, gasping. We need to go, Evelyn said. Stepping forward to help Deaton out of the bed, Scott he's in trouble Deaton said. Kate, she's going to turn him into a berserker. I think Peter's working with her, Evelyn said. Can you prove that? Lydia asked as they hobbled down the hallway. Nope, but just don't trust him. That's a given, Lydia muttered. Yeah I had a an idiot moment Evelyn muttered I hoped. Evelyn, you go to the loft. Lydia can help me to the clinic Deaton said.
Evelyn rushed up into the loft; we just don't know where she heard Stiles say as she entered. Mexico, Evelyn said. And if you want to save them, that's where you're going, Deaton said.
