(the story will mostly be written in 3rd person with an exception of the characters thoughts every now and then)

*Mizuki's POV*

I don't get it. I stand here and watch hell I even get my hands on the ball and yet I still don't understand it. Why? Why love a sport to the extent of leaving someone behind? There is no such thing as a light on the court. It just looks like an everyday court that you use for exercise. So what are they talking about. Why can't I see it? Why do people love volleyball?

*third person*

"Good morning Mizuki," the girls mother said to her as she walked in to the kitchen.

"Morning," Mizuki said back with a small grumble.

"Your fathers friends are gonna be here today," her mother informed her as she turned around to see her daughter pulling milk out from the fridge, "you should wear something nice."

"It's fine," she said about to walk out, "I'll just be in my room."

"No," her mom shook her head, "your always hiding when your father comes home and quite frankly I'm tired of it. Your going to be out here and your going to like it."

"Why?" Mizuki asked her mom with a scowl.

"Look it's been years since your father has had one of these reunions and it just so happens that you don't have school planned on this one," she said to her daughter.

"Yeah but you said how not everyone shows up so why are you treating this as if it's important," Mizuki asked just to receive a sigh from her mother.

"Because this time everyone is going to be there," she said to which Mizuki showed no expression.

"Ok," Mizuki said nonchalantly.

"Just go get changed," her mother said excusing her daughter's poor attitude, "they'll be here soon."

"Great so now I get to hang out with a bunch of old people for the day," Mizuki grumbled as she went to step out of the kitchen only to be met by her dad standing in the doorway.

"For starters we aren't old," Tobio said to her, "and you're not going to be the only younger one there, they have kids you know."

He walked past his daughter who gave him a scowl. She didn't understand why they still did these. They were pointless. On top of that she's never been to one so how was she supposed to know what to expect.

"Why do you two always fight," Hikaru, Tobio's wife asked.

"I try not to," he said hugging her from behind, "I guess we just don't understand each other."

"Lies," she said finishing up with the dishes and turning around to face her husband, "I know for a fact that you two used to get along."

"Well sometimes people change," Tobio said letting go as he heard a knock at the door.

"Are we gonna place bets on who arrived first?" Hikaru asked opening the fridge to grab the food she made earlier this morning to put out on the table.

"My bets on the idiot shrimp," Tobio said playing along with his wife.

"I don't know maybe it's Tsuki and Tadashi," she said placing the food down leaving space for the others to bring their stuff, "they did show up before shoyo last time."

"That was because he was taking his daughter to day care," Tobio said walking out of the kitchen to open the door.

To his surprise he was partially wrong which made him laugh a bit.
