The moment Tony walked away from Maya after their unexpected encounter, he knew he couldn't let her slip away again. His heart was still tethered to her after all these years, and he felt a renewed sense of purpose—to earn her trust back and rekindle what they once had.

Several days later, Tony finds himself standing outside Maya's elegant New York City apartment building. He takes a deep breath, his heart pounding with nervous anticipation. It's now or never.

As he approaches the doorman, the man recognizes him immediately and greets him with a warm smile.

"Good evening, Mr. Stark. How can I assist you today?"

Tony gives a small nod, trying to hide his nervousness behind his signature smirk.

"Good evening. I'm here to see Maya Singh. Is she in?"

The doorman hesitates for a moment, but then nods in confirmation.

"Yes, she's in, Mr. Stark. Shall I announce your arrival?"

Tony glances at his reflection in the polished marble of the lobby and takes a deep breath, steeling himself for what comes next.

"No need," He replies, a determined glint in his eyes, "I'll surprise her."

Taking the elevator up to her floor, Tony feels a mixture of excitement and apprehension. He knows he needs to tread carefully, respecting her boundaries and feelings. He reaches her door and takes a moment to compose himself before knocking.

A few seconds later, the door opens, and there stands Maya—beautiful, elegant, and every bit as captivating as she was twenty years ago. Her eyes widen in surprise when she sees Tony, and a mixture of emotions flicker across her face.

"Tony... What are you doing here?" she asks, her voice a blend of surprise and caution.

"I came to whisk you away on a romantic whim," He says, trying to inject a hint of playfulness into his words.

Maya raises an eyebrow, clearly not expecting this bold move from him.

"You want to whisk me away?" she questions, a hint of skepticism in her voice.

"Yes, that's right," Tony replies with a confident smile, "We're going on an adventure tonight."

Maya looks hesitant, her walls still firmly in place.

"I don't know," She says, her voice tinged with caution.

Tony takes a step closer, his gaze unwavering.

"I know," He says softly, "And we will talk, I promise. But tonight, let's just have some fun. No pressure, no expectations. Just two old friends catching up."

She studies him for a moment, as if trying to gauge his sincerity. Finally, she nods slightly, a glimmer of curiosity in her eyes.

"Alright," She says, her guard softening just a little.

He grins, feeling a sense of triumph at her willingness to give him a chance.

"Great! Get ready, and meet me downstairs in fifteen minutes."

Maya retreats back into her apartment to prepare, leaving Tony alone in the hallway with his thoughts racing. He knows this is just the first step, and there's a long way to go, but he's determined to show Maya how much he cares.

Fifteen minutes later, Maya emerges from her apartment, dressed in a simple yet elegant outfit. She wears the golden ring Tony had made for her all those years ago, a constant reminder of their past.

As they step out of the apartment building, Tony leads her to a sleek black car waiting at the curb. He opens the door for her with a gallant gesture, and she can't help but smile at the old-fashioned charm.
