"But why mom? What's wrong in it?" I yelled at her frustrated.

"Because I said so" she too was no less.

"You are being ridiculous mom. You yourself know that you don't even have a solid reason. Then why the hell are you arguing?" I said.

"Zayn watch your tone. She is your mother" said uncle Saeed.

Standing in the middle of the living room we two were fighting like mad ones and our family is witnessing our fight for the very first time. Sighing I moved closer to mom and held her hands gently in mine and said,

"Why mom, just tell me the reason. Please" I whispered looking at her hardened face.

"Because she is a Widow and I don't want you to marry a widow. You get that Zayn? Now get back to your room" she ordered me raising her voice.

"No. I won't. And i won't listen to you. I will talk to dad and will marry her no matter what" saying my final decision to the people around i marched towards my room with a determined face.

"Is this a joke for you Mahia?" yelled mother gaining the attention of my father who was sitting in the middle of the living room in his armchair reading the daily newspaper.

"Maa please try to understand. I don't want this marriage Maa. I can never think of someone else in place of my mahir. Please i beg you maa. Please don't do this to me" i pleaded my mother whose face just turned stone cold listening to my words.

Dragging me from the kitchen to the middle of the hall she pushed me straight near the armchair in which my father was sitting. Looking at my crying face father got worried and stood up from his chair and held me closer in his embrace giving a hard glare to my mother  for being harsh to me.

"Before shouting at me ask your dear daughter the reason behind it" shouted mother once again which increased my sobbing. Patting my head gently, father said,

" Calm down Fatima. Will you? And whatever the reason is, just stop being harsh on her all the time. She is our daughter and treat her like one".

"Then ask her to behave like one Kareem" said my mother with too much of venom in her voice.

"Fatima" father shouted moving towards mother when i held his hands with tears rolling down my cheeks and shaking my head negatively I left to my room crying once again over my fate.
