Yeonjun helped Kai change into his Subterranean military uniform. It looked wrong to see him in red and black but it was important to show unity. The last touch was the jade crest. Kai was now the official symbol of two cities coming together.
They walked to the edge of the cleared circle outside. Bits of grass was beginning to grow in abundance. The Chois and the Kangs stepped behind the couple and waited.
A plane arrived to pick them up. Everyone but Kai was shocked to see the aircraft land in the edge of the dust. As if it was nothing spectacular, Kai said "come on. We have a funeral to get to."
They walked inside to see a single red chair on the right and a whole pannel of buttons. There was red seats lined in the back which Kai motioned for them to sit into. Kai sat in the pilot's chair. The aircraft was set to autopilot but Kai switched it to manual to silently show off.
Everyone strapped into their seats as the wings unfolded from the top. Taehyun asked "Kai. You know how to fly these?"
"Yup. I was down here for a while. Jungkook actually taught me. I have my own private plane too which Ellie commissioned."
Yeonjun asked "you have a private plane?"
"I told you I was treated well here."
Those amber eyes locked onto the control pannel. Kai whistled seven distinct notes. The pannel lit up. With the push of a few buttons, the wings began to flutter. All that was left was to input the coordinates. The system was designed like the trolleys or the trains in the Subterranean. As long as you knew some coordinates and could imitate some notes, you could control the machines. The coordinates were the hardest parts to get but Kai knew them all.
He made sure the keep the aircraft low so the passengers in the back could enjoy the view. They still only saw a bunch of orange but this was orange that glowed brighter with the sunlight.
The flight was only 20 minutes long. They landed on the hangar's platform. Kai whistled a few more notes then it descended.
The Kangs were beginning to realize why they couldn't get into the entrances. It literally would've been impossible to do without Kai.
He was greeted by Bangchan who made a deep bow then a salute. "Welcome back General."
Kai saluted back. "Thank you." He motioned for Yeonjun to stand next to him. "This is my real husband, Yeonjun Choi-Huening. He has the same rank as you where we come from. I'm sure you can teach each other a few things."
"Jungkook was loved sir but his death brought a new kind of hope. We, the honored and all ranks below, stand behind you as our general."
Kai thanked him then introduced the Chois and the Kangs. He mentioned "Soobin Choi was set to be the govenor of the Snow Globe when his father retired. I'm sure, if he's ready of course, he would be willing to take a position here. His father is a bit young for retirement."
Soobin was caught completely off guard. A chance to run his own city sounded like a dream. He was scared but he was ready. "I... it would be an honor Kai."
The blonde smiled. "We can discuss this later with everyone of course. Bangchan, I suspect you'll be at the meeting tomorrow?"
"If you'll have me, it would be an honor to be among the leaders."
"You are one. It would be incomplete without you."
Yeonjun watched his husband in his element. He was such a good leader, his charm united everyone and people just followed without question. He found himself, once again, asking how he got so lucky. A poor loser whose parents didn't love him, ended up with the pinnacle of perfection. Kai really was the best decision he had ever made.
