"I can't believe that I'm leaving for college tomorrow. I can't believe that I am leaving Boston tomorrow."
"Yeah, but it will be nice for you to be close to home again."
"Yeah, but you have made this place so magical, more magical then home."
"Well you don't have to be sad. I'm sure that Iowa City will be magical for you. Plus, you can always fly here if you want."
The two girls were sitting on the roof of the car, doing their favorite thing. Drinking slurpees and looking at the stars.
"Hey! Look it is our star! Rorlin!"
But this time, all that she could hear was the silence of tears flowing down the brunettes face.
"Rory. I said that you can't cry! Your'e going to make me cry!"
"I just can't believe that you are leaving, and that I will be here. Still in same old Boston."
"Hey! Maybe Iowa will play Duke once you go! I mean it is so cool that you are going to go there in 4 years! And like you said, I can always come back and visit."
As tears flowed down both of the girls faces, they embraced in a hug. They had spent the best summer together.
"RORY!?"
Suddenly the girl was snapped back into reality.
"Your from the logo three shot? Everyone is waiting for you!" Coach yells
The truth was, Caitlin and I had dated this summer, but realized it would never work. We broke up on good terms, and tried to just forget about it. But something lingered about her in my head.
"Oh right right.. sorry."
And that was it. Rory wasn't with Caitlin. Caitlin had promised that once she left for Iowa that she would make sure to text Rory. But Caitlin made new friends. And suddenly she started to text less and less until she just didn't. It had been 4 months the last time that they had talked.
"Practice dismissed, Rory can you stay behind for a second?" Coach says
"Yeah yeah, sure."
"So Rory. I've noticed that you seem a little bit distracted. I get that you already can go to Duke, but you do know that they could take back their offer, your only verbally committed. And you are only a Freshman. You can't just bail on the team. They need you. I mean 60 points a game! Rory that is insane, and you know it, but you need to stay focused. Can you just tell me what has been up for the past couple of weeks?"
"Yeah, it's just my brothers are back in town and when that happens things always get tense. My brothers are always going at it, and then you know my brother Adrien is always screaming at me, and all of that and so yeah, it's just a lot all at once, you know."
"Oh okay, I get it. Just try not to carry it out onto the court, okay?"
"Yeah, I'm sorry."
"It's okay kid, now go home."
Rory's POV:
As I exited the gym with all of my stuff, my worst nightmare, Connor McCaffery.
"ugh you've got to be kidding." I say under my breath
"You know I go to school with the girl who basically invented the from the logo."
I just can't escape her.
"I don't care." I say
Even though I know well that I do care.
"Wow, someones got a lot of attitude today. What happend Rory, you didn't score 70 points in the last game. Oh poor baby. But you know I'm having a really good season this year!!!"
