She felt that she could never be free,
From the darkness that was guaranteed,
She thought that she would never
Find the way,
To release her from her cage.

But then he walked in,
And found her in her cage
He asked her to come out,
She replied she didn't know how,
She couldn't get out on her own,
But no one has bothered to save her.

He smiled and said that he would save her,
But she didn't dare believe,
He would save her.
Because she didn't want to be hurt again,
She turned him away,
So he couldn't save her.

He didn't give up however
He would come to her cage every day,
He would stay with her for hours,
Telling her everything was going to be okay
Slowly, she began to see the darkness fade,
And she began to believe he could save her.

As the months passed,
The darkness faded away,
Until it wasn't there anymore,
Once again, the boy said he would save her,
And show her the world outside her darkness.

Except this time, she didn't turn him away,
And told him to save her
He broke through her cage and set her free,
He took her hand into his,
He showed her what it was like to be loved,
And she finally saw the world outside,
Her cage of darkness.
