Higurashi's Laughter

A/N: the date in which this story was written in 2018 from my old account called XxHigurashiRikaxX. As the date is now currently 2023, this story was written over five years ago. I am aware there are spelling errors. I am aware there is misinformation that a young author would not have been privy to (and also did not obviously research), so, please, before you leave a review, understand that I am perfectly aware that this story did not age as well as it could have. My newer work is a much better representation of my current skill level.

"Hey, guys!" Keiichi greeted the two little girls as he came into the classroom and saw them watching something on the phone. He wondered what they were watching. However, he wondered when they got this phone that looked flat. He had never seen it before, so he approached them and gazed at the flat phone.

"Uh, Rika? Satoko? Where did you two get the strange phone? I've never seen it like it before." Keiichi said with a curious look as he stared at it while kneeling down beside them.

"Oh, we got one from the store. It's new, right, Rika?" Satoko said as she glanced at Rika with a grin look.

Rika nodded. "Mii, Satoko, and I wanted a new phone, so we brought one, anyway."

"I see." Keiichi said, rubbing his chin with his hand, "So what are you two watching?"

"Rika and I were watching Try Not To Laugh. It's on YouTube videos. However, it's a challenging video about if you laugh, you lose. If you don't laugh, you win. Rika and I had been doing this for a whole day." Satoko explained.

Rika nodded. "Mii. It's fun. You should try this."

Keiichi grinned, folding his arms together smoothly. "Sounds like a challenge to me."

Then Mion and Rena entered the classroom and greeted them until they noticed.

"Hey, guys. What's going on?" Moon asked curiously,  couldn't help but see the flat phone that Satoko was holding to it while she and Rika were watching something on the video.

"Rika and Satoko are watching Try Not To Laugh videos. It's a challenge video." Keiichi told the two teenage girls.

"What kind of video are you guys watching?" Rena asked curiously.

"YouTube," Satoko said.

"YouTube? Um, guys... You know we're all from 1983, right? We've been dead for forty years now." Mion said, pointing it out.

Keiichi scowled between laughter while smirking, "No, we're not. We've been alive forever since we helped Rika and Hanyuu from a tragic death and even Takano. So what's the big deal, anyway? Why don't you two join us so we can play the challenge game?"

Mion smirked. "Oh, really? It sounds fun to me."

"I'm in!" Rena exclaimed.

"So what kind of game do we play?" Mion asked as she and Rena sat beside them.

"Try Not To Laugh," Rika said.

"What's that?" Mion asked.

"A challenging game. You had to watch the full video Try Not To Laugh. However, if you laugh, you'll get the points. If you don't laugh, you won't get the points. So are you two girls in?" Satoko explained, grinning.

"Heck yeah! Let's do it! I'll do the chalkboard and then we'll start the game." Mion said as she went to the chalkboard and write their names on it.

"You two are so cute! I wanna take you two home!" Rena exclaimed as she cuddled Rika and Satoko, which annoyed them.

"Not now, Rena! We don't have time for this!" Satoko wailed, pushing her away.

"Now let's begin!" Rika said. Then they had to rewatch the video and began to do Try Not To Laugh challenge.
