7 years later...

"

Hey, Kane, cut it out," June groaned as Kane playfully nibbled on his neck, biting down a little too hard. June winced, feeling the pain shoot through his lip, causing tears to well up in his eyes. "Seriously, Kane, stop!" June pushed Kane's shoulders and quickly got up from his lap.

"June," Kane said in a low, menacing tone, causing June to shiver involuntarily. "What's gotten into you? Your behavior lately... it's like you've completely lost it!" June yelled, his voice filled with frustration. Holding back his tears, he couldn't even recognize the person standing before him.

"T-this relationship is- it's getting unhealthy!" he stammered, his voice hoarse from yelling. Kane's eyes softened as he saw the pure hurt in June's eyes. "J-june, baby, you know I love you..." his voice cracked, knowing where this was headed.

June shook his head, sniffling as he wiped away his tears. "I miss you, I miss my sweet, candy Kane."

Kane frowned, shaking his head in denial. "B-but, baby, I'm here. I'm here. You know I'll do anything for you."

June calmed down and sighed as he looked down. "I can't do this anymore. This isn't what I want..." he said in a low, almost whispered voice, but loud enough for Kane to hear. "You've been reading my texts like a lunatic, invading my private messages. You don't allow me to go out and hang out with my friends."

He took a deep breath, his voice shaking as he continued, "You even screamed at your friend just because he was asking what my name was! All because of that!"

"That's because I love you!" Kane yelled, tears streaming down his face. "Why don't you understand?" he whispered, looking at June, who seemed taken aback.

June shook his head, trying not to get drawn into it again. "We should break up," he stated calmly, but his voice wavered.

Kane's eyes widened, and he gripped June's shoulders tightly. "You can't do this to me, June," Kane said desperately.

"Let me go," June said, squirming in the tight hold and hitting Kane's chest non-stop. "Kane, please stop! Stop... let's stop this..." June sobbed.

"J-june," Kane's grip on June weakened, and he gently enveloped the younger man in his embrace.

"I'm sorry, June. I don't deserve you," Kane whispered, rubbing June's back softly as the younger man sobbed on his broad chest. "You're right, I've caused you too much pain. I'm not good for you," his voice cracked as he hid his face in June's hair, the familiar scent of coconut shampoo comforting him.

June hiccupped, his tears wetting Kane's shirt. "I truly love you. I never stopped loving you in these seven years." He softly kissed June's forehead, pulling away after gently rubbing the younger man's nape.

June looked up with his sparkly, red-rimmed eyes. "I love you, but it hurts." Kane just smiled softly at his words. "I'll give you time and space to pack your things, okay, baby?"

June nodded lightly. Kane turned around, and as soon as his back was to June, his smile immediately faded away. His eyes darkened, a pained expression crossing his face.

June sobbed uncontrollably on the floor, leaning against the bed they used to share. As he placed his luggage on the floor, he began packing his folded clothes and other belongings. He still couldn't believe it - it still hurt so much.

" love you, Kane... my sweet candy Kane..."

"You even gave me a nickname, huh?"

"Hmp! It's cute - don't make fun of me!"

June unconsciously tugged up a smile as he remembered the past. He then sniffled and wiped his tears away. He had to go, he had to do this, and he had to let go now.

As he stood up with his luggage, he went downstairs to see Kane waiting for him by the door. He let out a sigh, walking towards him with sad eyes, but only receiving a soft smile from the older man. "I'm sorry for everything, June..."

"I'm sorry for yelling at you..." June had never - never once had he yelled at Kane or cursed at him. Kane just chuckled sadly and pulled him into their last embrace before pulling away to give him one final kiss.

"You know I never stopped loving you, and I mean it."

"I'm sorry for bothering you, Kyler," June said as he stepped inside his friend's house with his luggage, but his friend just clicked his tongue. "The fuck, what do you mean bothering you? You're actually welcome here! You can even live here if you want," Kyler exclaimed, making June smile at his funny and kind personality that hadn't changed since their high school days.

As they settled down in the living room, Kyler noticed the sadness in June's expression. "You okay?"

"H-huh? Yeah, I'm okay... it already happened," June said, trying to convince himself that he was indeed okay - that he was definitely okay.

"Tomorrow will be a new start and a new day," June added, still feeling sad. "Bro, we're always here for you, okay? You know what's good after a breakup?"

"What?"

"Slumber party! To welcome you to the single life!" Kyler shouted in excitement as he rushed to grab his phone to call their two friends, while June sniffled and smiled. He had to move on, right? Maybe, but it wouldn't hurt as much anymore.

Then, a few minutes later, their two friends came barging in with beers in their hands. "Aww, June, come here," Chicago said in a motherly way as he placed the plastic bags on the floor. June almost jumped into his embrace as he accepted the comforting hug. "There, you did the right thing. It's okay."

"Moving on is good too," Chris added as he tapped June's head gently.

"Now! Let's have a party!" Kyler exclaimed.

"I thought it was a slumber party?" Chris tilted his head.

"Bitch, I'm just saying 'party' - slumber partying," Kyler clarified with a grin.

Chris just glared at Kyler sharply as he headed to the kitchen to place the food down. Meanwhile, the hugging pair remained, and Chicago pulled away, ruffling June's hair. "Let's freshen up! Let's not be sad tonight, okay?" June nodded his head as he showed a small smile. He appreciated his friends who were cheering him up, and it was helping, if only a little. He was going to be okay - or so he thought.

"You know I never stopped loving you, right?"
