Garrett’s POV

I took her hand in mine feeling her cold skin against my warm hand made me shiver but in a good way, “Come on lets go” I laughed tugging her away from the school with a smile on my face, “Wait aren’t we going to take the car?” she asked looking back at her jeep. I just shook my head.

“Lesson number one Aubrey, a teenager is really hard head, besides, the rain isn’t even that bad right now” I pointed out, the rain was only coming down in small droplets that would occasionally hit our skin, but other than that it was tolerable. “I just don’t want you to get sick, with my skin being so cold and all” she murmured, I turned to her and covered her mouth before she could finish her sentence.

“What did I say? Just forget you are a…vampire for toady” for some reason I had a hard time saying vampire lately, I don’t know if it was something inside me that was terrified of saying it or just dealing with the fact that I had feelings toward a girl who was in fact a vampire after all. “Okay, Okay I’m sorry” she laughed. I removed my hand from her mouth and looked down at her; the rain was made her hair darker than usual causing her blue eyes to pop out even more. I could feel my heart beat wildly in my chest when I looked down at her, and if I could hear it she probably could to, “Come on lets go”

The only reason why I suggested we go on a date was so Aubrey would hopefully change her mind before she would tell me what she wanted. She said she had bad news and I hoped that it was that she couldn’t find a way to break the bound but then again I could be wrong. I towed her downtown taking the long way, not wanting to go through the woods in fear that the scenery would set her off from the battle we had witnessed before and  led her  on the outside of a large building.

“Okay, I’m going to give you a boost in the window and I want you to pull me in when you get up there all right” I said still holding onto her cold hand. Aubrey looked up at the window and then glared at me “NO WAY!”  It was then that I realized what she was wearing, my face turned a bright red as I shook my head quickly “N...no! Oh God! I didn’t mean it like that I swear, I mean...” I decided to let the sentence drop, I looked back up at the window and sighed, it looked like we weren’t going to be doing the one thing on my list for the date, but It didn’t matter, maybe we could kill time by roaming around  downtown or something.

“Fine….give me a boost” she finally said looking down. I was a bit taken back by what she said, sensing she was uncomfortable I disagreed “Look Aubrey if you don’t want to do this we don’t have to” I started saying until she glared at me harshly “I SAID GIVE ME A BOOST!” quickly I cupped my hands together as she placed her foot in my hand “Ready? 1….2…3” I lifted her up as I kept my eye level down not wanting to look up at her, I felt her weight shift upwards and saw she had crawled into the window.

“Here give me your hand” she called back I took her hand in mine as she effortlessly lifted me up and into the building, it was semi dark inside except for the grey light that poured in through the windows from outside. I jumped down from the ledge we were on and grabbed hold of Aubrey’s waist and settled her down softly “Where are we?” she asked looking around, I didn’t answer her but led her into a room that had obviously had not been clean for decades, and produced a pair of skates. “Skating? We are going skating?” she demanded

“Yea, Ice skating to be exact, they go over the ice once a month and keep this place extra cold, even though no one uses this place it’s still nice to have” I shrugged. I watched her eye the skates as she took them in her small hands she looked confused and looked up at me for help. “Don’t tell me you have never been Ice skating” I laughed, she just shook her head as I roared in laughter “Whew this is going to be great, sit down here” I said motioning to a chair, Aubrey glared at me once she sat down “well excuse me, I never had time for things like that back in Europe” I looked at her shocked, this girl was just full of surprises, “You’re from Europe! That’s cool, where in Europe?” I asked as I started lacing up the skates on her feet, “not originally, that’s where I first lived, but in Italy, I loved it there, it was truly magnificent” she sighed dreamily.
