Evelyn walked into the power station. Scott, she called, jogging down the stairs. Scott, she called again. In here, Scott called back. Evelyn rushed over. You're sure it's the last chimera, Evelyn asked. Yeah, I used Parrish's black light. There is mercury, Scott said. Evelyn turned to see the deputy in the corner. Do you have any idea what this is? He asked no, but I'll ask my father. He might know more than me, and if all else fails, we'll go to Gerard, Evelyn said. You're psychotic grandfather? Parrish asked—my psychotic grandfather who knows more about the supernatural than any of us. Just remember everything with Gerard comes at a price, Scott said. Trust me, I know Evelyn said. Better than most, she muttered, turning and heading back up the stairs. You gonna tell us why you're not wearing shoes Parrish asked. Let's just say heels and underground tunnels don't go together, Evelyn said. Scott looked at her, noticing that she was dressed up. She was wearing a black strap crop top with black jeans and a black leather jacket. What exactly were you doing before I called the alpha asked. Following up on a lead, Evelyn said casually, walking up the steps. The McCall boy groaned. He knew he'd never get the whole truth out of her, but she looked dressed for a club.

Evelyn pulled up to the warehouse, waiting for her father to come out. She had talked to him earlier, asking if he knew about the last chimera. He hadn't known anything, and when she'd gone to talk to Gerard, she'd found Argent had already been there. She knew what Gerard would want in order to help them, and she knew that her father would be prepared to give it to him. She also knew that if they did this alone, she wouldn't have to worry about whatever was coming next because, at the rate this thing killed without knowing what it was, they'd all be dead. Evelyn wasn't going to let her father face Gerard alone. Argent walked out of the warehouse, sighing as he noticed her. Evelyn stepped out of the car. You're not coming with me, he said. Yes, I am. You're not going to talk to Gerard alone, Evelyn said. And what about the others? Argent asked. Well, currently, Lexie is at home working on homework. I think Stiles and Scott may have finally made up, and well Malia is in the needs to make her own mistakes part of her life. So that leaves you going to see my psychotic grandfather who has destroyed both of our lives. Nope, you're definitely not going to do that alone, Evelyn said. Fine Argent grumbled, but I'm driving. OK, Evelyn walked over to his car, sliding into the passenger seat. Argent got into the driver's seat quickly pulling out of the parking area and driving off. You're really wearing that he asked. Evelyn chuckled I didn't have time to go home and change she said. You look like you went clubbing Argent said. Well, thanks, that's the look I was going for Evelyn said. Argent sighed, shaking his head. They were both too stubborn for either one of them to win an argument. At least she had a jacket slid over the tight dress, keeping her from getting cold.

They walked into Gerard's room, Argent holding the case carrying the yellow wolfsbane in his hand. Nothing pleases me more than a surprise visit, Gerard said. Do you know why we're here? Argent asked, setting the box down on a table as Evelyn leaned against the doorframe. I've heard rumors, Gerard said a few bits of gossip that managed to reach even this dark corner of Beacon Hills. Argent opened the box, pulling the flower out. How long have you had that? Gerard asked. Long enough, Evelyn said as Argent threw the flower to the ground. She looked away disgusted as Gerard threw himself out of his wheelchair, grabbed the flower, and shoved it into his mouth. He spit out a handful of blood red blood. He was healed. All this to help, Scott Gerard asked, standing up. Evelyn stepped forward, moving to her father's side. This is what they would need each other for. They had fought demons, alpha werewolves, and professional killers, but what scared them the most was the human man in front of them. You know about the dread doctors, don't you? Argent asked. So they did succeed, Gerard said. Tell me what it is Argent demanded. Oh, not what it is, what it was Gerard said. A monster whose only purpose was to kill, not for substance, not for revenge, not for any rational impulse other than the drive to end life wherever it's found, Gerard said, stepping forward with each word. It also has a rather personal connection to our family. La bete Argent said, realizing. The beast of Geuvadan, Gerard said.
