*jocelyn* Friday January 3
"Joss?" Mike asked over the phone
"Yeah." I put on my pink lipstick
"When are you coming home?"
"Mike, they just started my hair. It'll be a bit."
"Oh. Hurry home!" He hung up the phone
I chuckled lightly as my hairdresser came back.
"All black?" She asked
"All black." I confirmed
. . .
I left the hair salon feeling confident in my new 'do. I sent a quick photo to Xavier and he replied positively. He sent back a photo of the completed hair things. The hair salon was only a short 10 minutes way from the apartment. I popped in my headphones and walked back to the apartment.
I greeted the doorman and headed up to the apartment. I shoved the key in the keyhole and turned in clockwise. I pushed the door open and looked around for Mike.
"Mike?" I called out
No answer. I trekked further into the apartment and found Mike sound asleep on the couch. I quietly set my stuff down and checked the time.
It was 10:12 pm, so it was a bit later. In my defense, Xavier booked my hair appointment and not me. I softly stepped into the bedroom and threw on some pajamas, which were really some sweats and a tee. I walked back out and gently shook Mike. He groaned and wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him.
"Mike, honey, let's get you to an actual bed?"
"I tried waiting for you." I helped him pull himself up
"I know." He walked in front of me and collapsed on the bed
. . .
After a long two-show day all I wanted to do was go home and lay in the warm embrace of my soon to be husband. But, there was still minor details to a wedding that needed to be planned. I stepped in the comfortable apartment and dropped my bag down. I slipped off my shoes and released my hair from the high ponytail it had been in since noon. Mike came walking around the corner and his face lit up when he saw me.
"Joss!" He pulled me into a tight hug
"Hi Mikey." I muttered into his chest
He pulled away and pulled me onto the couch a few feet away. I chuckled softly as he traced light shapes on my hand. I ran my fingers through his hair before he laid a soft kiss to my lips.
"We need to work out some details about the wedding." He looked up at me
"Alright." I grabbed my computer and opened it to the google doc full of wedding stuff
"Are we doing a first look?" Woah, big question
"I would rather not, to be honest. I want to see your reaction as I'm walking down the aisle. But, I have an idea! I could do a first look with the groomsmen?"
"Yeah, that's actually a pretty cool idea. I agree."
"My brother is going to walk me down the aisle." I smiled
"Great! Joss, I am so—" My phone rang
I checked the caller I.d and saw it was the wedding organizer from the library. I sent an apologetic look to Mike and picked up the phone.
"Hi Celia!"
"Hey girl! So I saw you had one extra chair than how many people rsvp'd?"
"Oh, yeah! It's for my dad."
"Oh. Alright, just wanted to check! Have a good rest of your night!" Then she hung up
I threw my phone down beside me and leaned into Mike.
"What was that?"
"Nothing. Back to planning!" I set my laptop on my lap
"Our first dance and song."
"Right. I was thinking L.O.V.E by Nat King Cole? And, I know you still talk to Ryan. And obviously we're still dancers, so maybe he could choreograph?"
"I'll text him in the morning. I was thinking..."
"Yes?"
"Maybe, we could do a private last dance. Just us and I guess a photographer"
"Mike! That's a great idea! You're too cute." I typed the plans quickly
"Oh! Instead of a guest book, we could do a polaroid camera, and everyone takes a photo. Or we could do like marriage advice?" I tapped my finger on Mikes cheek
"I would rather the camera."
"Good. Good." I typed that in
"Are you going to get a hotel room with your bridesmaids or should I?"
"Me please! Also, who are your groomsmen? I don't think I've ever asked."
"Oh! Tommy, Sam, and Ben."
"Ben Platt?"
"No, Ben Fankhauser. Obvi!" What
"Obvi?" I laughed
"Alright, so we'll get your hotel room booked. And you have your makeup artist and hair person ready?"
"Yes. I do."
"Are we having an open bar?"
"Yes! I'm officially 21 so I can legally drink!"
"Right. And we have our cake ordered?.
"Correct. I also have other dessert things ordered."
"Joss?"
"Mike."
"I think we're done."
"Woah. Yeah, I think we are." I closed my laptop after jotting down the extra plans
I snuggled closer into Mike and wrapped my arms around his waist. He pressed a light kiss to my head. We both had fallen asleep in a matter of minutes. His grip didn't loosen, however. And neither did mine.
