'This is Raju Bhai's area. Full name Rajashekaran. Raju bhai mig-'

'Just Raju. He is not your Bhai,' Amarnath crosses his arms, studying the large map of Bombay in his new office. The other inspectors and constables glance at each other in silence.

'Ji Sir. He migrated from Tamil Nadu in the 50s. He was working in the CST as a coolie. Then he began looting imported maal in the dockyards and controlling the shipments. Now, he has an empire of smuggling rackets at the port. He helps all the poor Tamil migrants in Dharavi and Matunga areas. He has a huge fan following there. He's close to zone 5 DCP Parthiban Sir. He was a good friend of our previous DCP Sir also. Sir, if you want, his phone number is in th-'

Amarnath turns to him, his eyes fixed in an unblinking glare.

'S-Sorry, Sir,' the inspector swallows and points at the map again. 'This is Suraj's Bhai's are-'

'Suraj,' Amarnath sounds irritated. 'Kitni vara dasanaa hain, bhai na kaho?'

'Ji, sorry Sir ... this is Suraj's area. Bombay ke ladka hain. But trained by Rajashekaran. Suraj controls all the extortion activities, contracts and supari killings. Yeh Suraj bahut dangerous hain Saab. Recently, it is speculated that he killed a college boy over some issue. And that boy's brother is hard on revenge now.'

'What's his name?'

'Pramod, Sir. Bas bees-ikees umr ka launda hain. He has openly announced that he will be the biggest bhai of Bombay.'

'Pramod ... ' Amarnath continues to gaze keenly at the map.

'Did you get the files?' He asks after a minute.

'Sir.' The inspector looks at the stack of files about all the rowdy sheeters of Bombay on Amarnath's desk. He sits on his chair and looks through the first file.

'Where are the details of all these people?'

'Sir, all the details are there.' The inspector says.

'Iha?' Amarnath lifts the file. 'I don't want their father's name, mother's name, age ... yeh traffic department hain ki iha? Is this how you collect data in the crime department?'

The officers fumble for an answer.

Amarnath walks up to the whiteboard and explains. 'I want complete details. At what time he leaves his house, which hotel he goes to, what does he eat, which barber shop he visits, all the routes he takes frequently, his car and bike mechanic address ... who works from whom, who talks to whom ... every single detail. For each one of them.'

The inspector nods. 'Sir.'

'Get to work right now. Get their phone tapped. Coordinate with the control room and the traffic department. I'll talk to them. I want everything ready by this week.'

They snap to attention, clicking their heels before exiting the cabin. Amarnath sits on his chair again.

His new office near CST is much larger than his previous ones. There is a large verandah, the main office room, separate chambers for the inspectors, and a large chamber for him. The desk holds his nameplate: golden letters imprinted on the blue board.
