It's been a month now since Amys last seen her dad. Nothing really changed after the dinner they had. Amy just started being more reflective on they're relationship trying to figure out how she feels and if she should try talking to her father about her feelings. Even though she felt like her father would listen to hear and try to understand her feelings, she wasn't exactly sure how she would explain her feelings without seeming ungrateful or mean. Surely she could've just let it go but having to constantly wonder wether this feeling of distance between you're own father is just solely imagination was terrifying. Amy even talked to her best friend about her feelings towards her father and tried her best to explain how distant and almost unfamiliar she felt towards him. Her best friend tried reassuring her that it was probably because they didn't see each other that often. But then again how was she supposed to get closer to her father if he's not interested in having a better relationship with her. So yet again she found herself unable to identify what she was supposed to do.
Now that Amy's finished up her higher education she wanted to go out to celebrate with some friends. They decided to go to one of the local clubs. It was their first time going to a club usually they'd just meet up at someone's house and make themselves some cocktails and chat all night but since they had a reason to go all out they took they chance. They all decided to take the bus to the club since they wanted to drink and couldn't drive themselves home afterwards. When they arrived at the club they were already a bit drunk because they decided to start drinking beforehand to safe money. All of them went straight to the bar to keep the party going. Amy tried getting one of the bartenders attention but there where too many people so she just kept getting pushed around. Due to all the pushing she ended up bumping into a man, he was around 1.70 cm tall, brown eyes, brown messy hair and some nerdy glasses.
"Are you alright?" he's said while directing me out of the crowd into a more spacious place.
"Yeah, sorry for bumping into you back there."
"Don't worry about it, it wasn't really ur fault. Come to think of it, are all those people really that desperate to get wasted nowadays so they push away everyone getting in the way between them and alcohol."
"I guess so" she answered while slightly giggling about his comment.
"You're really cute" he said while looking closely into Amy's eyes.
"Thank you!" she said blushing
"Would you wanna go sit down other there, I'm not really a party person I would much rather just talk to you."
"I would love to."
The both of them started walking towards a little booth at one of the corners of the club and sat down next to each other. They started talking and getting to know each other. Clearly the both of them had some connection going on because the conversation went on flawlessly without awkward silence. They even started talking about their families and their struggles in life.As time went by Amy wanted to check up on her friends who she got separated from in the beginning. She excused herself for a minute and started searching for her friends. When she couldn't find them on the dance floor she decided to check the toilets. When she arrived she found two of her three friends. One of the was crying horribly, "What happened?" Amy asked.
"Lucil decided to make out with Dianes ex boyfriend."
"What are you serious?!? What is she thinking, I'm gonna go confront her. You stay here and try to calm her down. l'll be back soon." Amy rushed back out still shocked by the news, she couldn't believe Lucil would do that after she knew everything he had done to Diane over the past two years. Amy was able to spot Lucil across the room kissing Dianes ex. She gathered all her courage to go up to her.
"What do you think ur doing Lucil?!" she tried redeeming all the anger she was feeling towards her.
"What does it look like Amy?" she said while looking at Amy like she was dumb. Amy couldn't believe what she was hearing, she would've never thought that Lucil would hurt Diane with full force.
"What even are you doing?" Lucil asked her.
"What do you mean?"
"I saw you over there with ur little "friend", you do know he could be you're father he looks really old."
Amy turned around looking at her new made friend who was currently talking to some other guys. Shockingly enough she did see what Lucil was talking about but obviously she couldn't admit that in front of her. So instead of snapping back Amy decided to walk away.As a result of Lucils rude comment Amy couldn't bring herself to stay at the club any longer. She quickly gathered all her stuff and left. While walking to the nearest bus stop she started thinking more about what happened that night and what Lucil said about the boy she was with. At first Amy couldn't wrap her mind about how she couldn't notice how old he was, but maybe she just didn't want to realize. She started thinking, "He was very caring and sweet..." That's when she realized that he did seem very "father" like. At this point she didn't know what to think anymore so she went online trying to figure out what was wrong with her. Eventually she stubbled upon the word "daddy issues" one thing consistent of that is feeling more attracted to older men. That made Amy think what if she couldn't better her relationship with her dad and ends up wanting a partner who embodies a father figure and getting super emotional attached to them not being able to be on my own anymore because i relay on them so much. Amy felt hopeless and trapped. How is she supposed to know her real feelings toward men when her "daddy issues" seem to constantly invalidate them.
The bus arrived and Amy got on. She sat down at the one of the seats close to the window. While she was looking outside she couldn't help thinking about the whole night. Obviously she felt a bit down but also slightly relieved because now she was a bit closer to figuring out what's was going on with her lately. Amy made herself a promise to read more into "daddy issues" and what could've caused them, so she would be able to understand herself and feelings even better.
