The Princess and the Knight

Chapter 15

                                                             Visenya Targaryen (22 years old.)

                                                          Xanner Strong (25 years old.)

                                                             Lyonel Strong (4 years old.)

 

                                                       Jaenna Strong (3 years old.)

Visenya smiled tiredly as she watched her husband hold their newborn baby girl. Since the midwives had placed the babe in his arms Xanner did not seem to want to be parted from her. Visenya had only held her for a few minutes, her husband had sent one of the kingsguard to tell her parents about the birth. Her parents had been taking care of Lyonel and Jaenna since Xanner refused to leave her side.
"She is beautiful." Xanner sat on the bed, kissing Visenya's head. "You did very well."
"Thank you." Visenya ran a hand over her daughter's head. "She is completely perfect."
The doors opened and her children ran in, followed by her parents. They smiled as they neared the bed and her children attempted to climb onto the bed, their small faces curious as they looked at the babe in their father's arms. Daemon picked up Lyonel and placed him on the bed, while her mother took Jaenna placing her next to her brother. Both children looked between their parents and the babe and Xanner moved, lowering the babe until both children could look at her.
"This is your little sister." Jaenna ran a finger over the baby's face, smiling as the baby squirmed. "You are both going to have to take care of her."
"She is beautiful." Rhaenyra touched the babe's head, smiling at Visenya. "Have you both picked a name yet?"
"Yes." Visenya smiled as Xanner frowned. She had not told him that she had already picked a name. "Her name is Ellena Strong, after Xanner's grandmother."
"Really?" Xanner's smile was bright, she knew that he had never met his father's mother, but he would tell her stories his father had told him and he seemed very nostalgic. "Thank you."
They both had decided to name their firstborn after Harwin's father since he would be the lord of Harrenhal one day and then Xanner had let her give their daughter a Valyrian name, now it was her turn to honor her husband's family legacy. She watched as both her parents took turns holding the babe and her children took turns holding the babe in their laps. They were so adorable, Jaenna seemed to think her new baby sister was a doll and kept kissing her chubby cheeks. Visenya's eyes started closing and her parents finally left, taking Lyonel and Jaenna with them. Xanner placed the babe in the crib and then lay on the bed beside her. Visenya was happy that everything had gone well with the birth. Visenya was sad that her siblings were all over Westeros, the only two here were Aenys and Aemma. Alyssa had left for the Vale after a huge fight with Baelon, Visenya could see that her little sister's heart had been broken. Baelon had not been acting the same since then and a few days after Alyssa had left to be fostered by Lady Arryn, Baelon had left and gone across the narrow sea. Her parents had not told her what the exact problem had been, but she knew it had something to do with Alyssa's feelings for their brother and him not returning them.
Rhaegon had left for Dragonstone with Jaehaera a few moons ago and still had not returned. According to what her mother had said Rhaegon did not know when he was returning. Rhaegon had written that being on Dragonstone was doing some good to Jaehaera and he did not want to return yet and for her to have a setback. Deirys would be staying at Dragonstone for at least another year, but she had written to Visenya saying that she would be arriving tomorrow to meet her new niece. Visenya looked at her husband who was sleeping beside her. She was happy everything in her life seemed to be going well. All that was left for her life to be perfect is for her siblings to find happiness. She wished them to find someone to love and who loved them unconditionally. She could not wait for all of them to be together once more.
