"I wanted her to just be safe, yet... she was so close to danger." -Lucas Anderson

The sun had just begun to set, casting a warm golden glow on the horizon. The gentle breeze tousled our hair as we cruised down the winding roads, enjoying the scenic route to the party. Delanor's laughter echoed through the car, and I couldn't help but smile as her eyes sparkled with excitement. Her black dress flowed elegantly with every movement, and the silver choker accentuated her graceful neck. The heels she wore added a touch of sophistication, making her look even more enchanting.

My black button-down shirt, though a bit messy, added a relaxed yet stylish vibe to my outfit. The shirt's sleeves were casually rolled up, revealing my forearm. The black dress pants fit perfectly, giving me a polished appearance, and my black shoes were shined to perfection.

The music playing loudly in the car was a mix of our favorite tunes, filling the air with an infectious rhythm that had us tapping our fingers on the steering wheel and dancing in our seats. We were both in high spirits, looking forward to a night of fun and revelry. My hand rested on hers while she sang along to the song and played with my rings.

As we approached the party venue, the excitement intensified. The chatter and laughter from the gathering guests spilled out onto the street, creating an inviting atmosphere. The house hosting the party stood grandly, adorned with fairy lights that illuminated the front yard. Colorful balloons and decorations added a festive touch.

As we parked the car, I couldn't help but feel a surge of pride as Delanor gracefully stepped out, looking like a vision in her black dress. The dimming sunlight highlighted her features, and she radiated confidence and charm. I offered her my hand, and she graciously took it, a gesture of camaraderie and support that conveyed our strong bond.

I led her inside the house, quickly noticing the type of party this was. Many drinks were on the counters, the couple's lips on each other not daring to pull away their hands getting bold as they danced with the music. My eyes widen taking the sight all in. I then felt her hand relace mine and I saw her walking to her boyfriend, they shared a kiss as he held her waist in one hand while the other one was holding his drink.

I felt an urge to go near her, to make sure everything would go well, but I held myself back. I knew Delanor was a strong girl who could say no if she felt uncomfortable. I sighed as I rolled my shoulders back to relieve some tension. I then made my way deeper into the house where the party got heavier. I went and dropped myself on the couch as I looked around, snacks on plates, sounds playing, games going on, drunk yelling, and the smell of alcohol took me back to my house. I wanted to leave but I couldn't do that to Delanor.

I got up from the couch as soon as I drunken couple sat near and started to get a bit romantic. I wiped my sweaty palms on my pants getting huge flashbacks from what I had dealt today. I wanted to find Delanor, to hug her. I wanted her comfort so I went on to find her. I went back to the entrance to see her pinned in a corner with her boyfriend, he set his cup down and grabbed her thigh picking it up and squizzing it. I felt an anger rush that he could be touching her like that, but it seemed like she was enjoying this. She wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss, his eyes closed. I could see their heavy breathing from their clothes. I walked a bit backward now slowly hypervalting.

People bumping into me, the loud music giving me a headache, the strong smell of the drinks, and the smoke coming from some people's vapes. I had to get out of there, but if I would I had to leave Delanor alone in this place. I contemplated my thoughts, I looked back at her, now Devin was offering some drinks and she took them. I wanted to slam the cup out of her grasp. 'please don't become like one of them.' I thought. I shook my head and sighed as she chugged the drink. I tightened my grip on the keys and walked out of the party. I looked at my phone and turned on the sound just in case she had to call me.
