When dropped into the HQ, you groaned loudly. Miguel took one glance at you before walking to that platform of his.

You cracked your back as you looked around a bit, then you spotted your friend.

Hobie was hanging out with Mayday until he saw you. Both him and her smiled widely when they did so.

"Yo, big man! Wassup?" you dapped Hobie up with one hand and in the other he was holding Mayday carefully yet tightly.

"I haven't seen you in a while, everything alright?" he asked as he took hold of Mayday in both of his arms. She smiled and babbled up at you as her bright blue eyes shined.

You were never a really big fan of babies and toddlers. Their cries and screams for stupid things were the last things you wanted to hear...but when they weren't doing that, you questioned yourself.

Mayday was a good kid, she made you think if you wanted to be a father, really.
"It's just...I've been busy, it's all. I'm good now." you reply with a small smile as Hobie returns it.

"So...Miguel." Hobie says in a questionable voice "How are you two? Getting along yet?"
To be honest, you almost bursted out laughing, but you let out a small chuckle:
"More than that...I know the guy liked me from the start."

Hobie then looks up at Miguel that was already staring at those dumb monitors. "...same vibe as a child staring at a sensory video, if you ask me..." he whispered "...Are you serious though? What do you mean he likes you?" he put more emphasis on that word 'likes', which made you look at Miguel, then back at Hobie.

"On a friendly way I suppose...I don't know what he'd consider as flirting." awkwardly, you smiled as you spoke.

You really did look into it deeper now. Did Miguel like you more than just a simple friend or? Were you even a friend to him in the first place?

"Well...give him small hints?" Hobie shrugged, Mayday still looking at you.
You felt nervous and unsure about it, but the moment you looked down and saw Mayday's bright eyes, everything was possible.

"Yeah...you're right." an even wider smile approached your mouth as you gave Mayday a small kiss on her forehead.

Soon, Hobie had to get going, though you agreed to meet him later that day.
"You know..." he turned around to look at you "If you'll want to, you'll be an amazing dad one day. Kids know when someone is a good person."

Then, Hobie left as Mayday peeked at you over Hobie's shoulder. Your eyes widdened a bit at his words, but you decided to think about it a bit later.
Even though it might have been a nice thing to think about, not today.

Your face quickly turned towards Miguel as his platform was lowered now. He was just reading some reports as he sat down.

He brought his knuckles to his lips as his thick brows furrowed at the text he was reading. His big chest rose and fell slowly as his legs relaxed seperated.
Honestly, you could tell he was tense at the report he was reading, his muscles were all tensed up and much more visible...

Hm...wow.

You decided to go up to him, but his eyes stayed fixiated on the text he was reading. He was really focused on it...and you were focused at him.

Both of you exchanged no words, it was just nice having each other's presence.

Your eyes shined, filled with pure bliss as you looked at the man. His nose a little downward as his cheekbones stood out.
Probably, because of stress, one of his fangs poked him soft bottom lip, but quickly he covered it with his hand.
His eyes were a soft amber colour, they weren't too bright nor too dark.

You might even say it, they were perfect, along with some dark hair strands covering them.

A soft sigh came out of you as you looked at Miguel's eyes specifically. Before, your eyes were roaming around the whole man.

Then his eyes met yours.

"What?" he questioned, raising his eyebrows but he wasn't mad.
You could't help but chuckle as you continued to look at him. "Nothing...you missed me, didn't you?" Those words came out as you continued to look at Miguel.

His eyes widdened a tad bit at the question as he stayed silent for a few seconds. "It's alright if you did, it's not a sin to do so...I kind of missed you for that short period of time, there." you whispered with a smile on your face.

A blush spread across Miguel's cheeks as his hand lowered to support his chin. "Well...you're good company." he said trying not to make this sound...romantical...as he looked away.
It was quite funny.

"That doesn't answer my question..." you teased a little as you got closer to him. His gaze still focused on the reports as he didn't reply. It was lovely.

It was true, you missed Miguel but you were afraid of your parents or friends not finding you home. You were under some stress even now.
Even though it has been 10 hours since you last saw him...you really enjoyed his company.
You were happy to see Miguel today, more than happy.

"I did miss you." his voice disturbed your thoughts. You weren't looking at him anymore, yet now again you were.
You could tell he hadn't moved his head from that screen, but he still said it.

That same shine appeared in your eyes as he said that.

No other words were said between you two for the next minute. You only felt your head getting heavier from the tiredness.

Miguel noticed it and looked at you as your eyes were closed. "You tired?" his soft hoarse voice made you look at him.

With a sigh, you nodded rubbing your face slowly. There was some silence again for a few seconds before Miguel smiled a little.

"You can rest your head on my shoulder, I don't mind." he whispered back.
His words took you by surprise, but you couldn't deny that request.

You immediately put your head on his shoulder, starting to relax.
"You don't have to worry about home, Lyla's got everything covered." Miguel whispered once again.

Hobie has talked to you about this Lyla AI Miguel had, and she helped him a lot. You didn't bother to question it.

Soon, Miguel himself didn't realize it, but his head leaned against yours too.

To him, he realized it wasn't a good idea later too.
When that one report was done, there were many more to do.

He put the finished report on the other side where you rested your head as he thought to himself.
Those reprots had to be finished as soon as possible.
Sighing, he very carefully got up, leaning your head back awkwardly trying to not wake you up.

Miguel grabbed the reports he needed as he headed back to his seat. Luckily, you didn't move an inch, which made him sigh happily.

...

Some time has passed as he got around three reports done, there was nothing but silence and peace surrounding the both of you.
Suddenly, your head dropped on his forearm that was holding the report.

His eyes widdened at you as he panicked a little from the inside. Miguel looked at the report that was in front of him, then back at you, thinking. Everything stressed him out so much, there hasn't been a night where he slept for more than four hours.

With a loud sigh he carefully put the reports to the side, making your head fall onto his lap.

His body flinched a little as his muscles tensed up.

Yet, he didn't mind.

His eyelids got heavier second my second as he looked at you lovingly with furrowed eyebrows.
It was a weird look, it almost looks like confusion...but that was still somehow a soft gaze.

Stiffly, he brought his hand to your scalp as he massaged it softly, feeling his own self relax.
"Thank you..." Miguel thanked you, along with whispering your name quietly before falling asleep.

Finally.
