**Los Angeles, CA 1989**

The Porsche 911 Richard had stolen slowly crept down the quiet suburban street.  Richard's palms were sweating on the steering wheel as he slowly maneuvered the car through the winding road.  Richard had been robbing homes and stealing cars for years now, however, he had quieted down the past few years with his more horrid crimes to keep a lower profile as he had become paranoid the authorities were on to him.  Tonight was different though, the thoughts and temptations Richard had tried so hard to keep out of his mind for a few years were creeping back.

Richard slowly brought the car to a stop.  He cut the engine and took the keys out of the ignition.    Using the car key, he slipped it into a small baggy to dip it in some of his favorite white powder and snorted a key bump.  The white was something he could not give up.  It made him feel invincible.  Richard stuffed the rest of the drugs back into the glove compartment and slipped out into the night.  He wanted to find a house that was not too close to the car in case someone inside got a glimpse, but also not too far of a run if he had to make a quick exit.  Richard wasn't sure what he was trying to get into tonight.

Richard made his way quietly up the road, careful to not draw any attention to himself.  It was just after 1am and the street was pretty dark.  On his left, he passed a house that had a dim light on the first floor.  Typically, Richard avoided homes with lights on inside at all costs, however, something..or someone inside seemed to draw his attention and attract his interest.

Richard crept up to the house.  With each step, his heart raced with adrenaline, but he loved that feeling, it just made him feel so excited.  From the moment he stepped on the property it was as if time was moving in slow motion.  Richard silently and slowly crept behind the bush that was in front of the window, in order to block himself from the view of the house across the street.  He didn't need the neighbors calling the cops for him peeping.

As he peered in the window, his heart almost skipped a beat.  It appeared he was peering into a living room.  Curled up on the couch with a book, was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.  She had long dark blonde hair and a slight tan to her skin tone.  She was wearing a tight little tube top that complimented her top half from what he could see.  Richard could feel himself getting more and more excited, he just couldn't bring himself to do anything but watch her through the window.  Richard couldn't wrap his head around why, she was the perfect target.  Alone, at night, tiny, vulnerable.

Richard continued to come back over the next few nights.  He watched the beautiful girl with no name through her window.  She was always either reading, watching television, or talking on the phone.  She always had on the cutest little outfits that showed off her toned body.   He would watch her until she turned her light out and retired to another room.  Every night before he went over he thought of all the things he could do to her and she would never suspect anything before he was in the house.  Something about it made him uneasy though, he did not want to hurt this girl...or even scare her.  He was afraid he was becoming soft and more empathetic now that he was approaching his 30's.

It was a hot evening and the sun was starting to set in the distance as Richard walked down the sidewalk of downtown LA.  It was eight thirty in the evening and Richard's night was only beginning.  He walked past a bar and decided to go shoot some pool and walked in.  The bar was quiet and there were a few other people in there having drinks.  It was early still for a Friday.  He took a seat and the bartender appeared from the back, Richard couldn't believe his eyes.  His stomach dropped.  It was the girl from the window.  She walked towards him greeting him with a smile.

"Hi! How are ya today?" She said cheerily, she had the cutest southern accent he had ever heard in his life.

Richard stared blankly in awe of her, the beautiful girl's smile disappeared.  "Are you alright, sir?" she asked with concern in her voice.  Richard snapped out of it

"Oh yes, yes I um- he stuttered, you just look like someone I know is all, I'm sorry" he apologized, he was very embarrassed at his behavior and gawking.

"That's okay, she smiled, I've been told I have a familiar face."  She replied with a wink.  "I'm Kelsey, it's nice to meet you."

Wow, Kelsey, pretty name for a southern bell-like her, he thought to himself.  She was even more beautiful up close.  Her slightly tanned skin complimented the few freckles she had sprinkled along her nose and cheeks, her long blonde hair was straight and silky and pulled back from her face with a headband. Her cleavage popped out of her red shirt a little, and Richard felt his mouth watering.

"It's nice to meet you too, Kelsey, I'm Richard," he said.

"What can I get for you, Richard?" Kelsey said with a smile.  She was just way too cute to be real.  He could not believe out of every bar he could have walked into, this girl was the bartender.

"I'll take a whiskey, straight, and how about you do a shot with me?" He suggested.

"Mmm tempting, whiskey's my favorite" Kelsey replied.

She turned around and began walking to the other side to grab the bottle and some glasses.  At this time, Richard was able to see her from behind.  Her perfect backside came out of the ends of her ripped denim shorts.  This girl was like an angel.  Richard's devious side was trying to fight with his soft side.  This girl was an easy target all he had to do was lure her to him or break into her home and it was over.  She was completely helpless.

Richard forgot about his errands and spent the rest of the night with Kelsey at the bar.  He got up at times to shoot some pool for money but spent a lot of time trying to gain more information about her.  One side of him was genuinely interested and the other side of him was doing it to make her an even easier target.  At around 11pm, Kelsey let him know that it was the end of her shift and the other bartender would be closing so they said their goodbyes.  He didn't have to follow her he already knew where she lived.

About 10 minutes later Richard decided to take off and got into the stole Porsche once again.  As he drove up the streets he was pleasantly surprised to see Kelsey walking.  Now was his chance.  He pulled over and began driving slowly next to the sidewalk in order to get her attention.  He rolled down the tinted window on the passenger side of the car to talk to her.

"Do you need a ride, it's kind of late for a girl like you to be walking out here all alone.." Richard called out.  That sounded so kidnapper like he thought.  He hoped she didn't think that too.

Kelsey's face paused for a moment as she pondered if this was a good idea or not.

"Ah, that's sweet of you but I'm almost home" she replied.  Little did she know Richard already knew that.

"Come on, it's just a lift I'm not going to kidnap you" he replied jokingly...but, unfortunately, he hadn't decided whether that was a joke or not.

Kelsey hesitated for a moment.  She then grabbed the door handle and hopped in.  This was too easy Richard thought.  Much easier than actually breaking in.
