The Other One

The next day, Changbin headed to the police station where he worked early in the morning. He was in a hurry, even the greetings of his co-workers were ignored. When he arrived at his room, Changbin immediately locked his room and opened all the files on The Red Demon and the cases related to the serial killer.

Meanwhile, Han approached Bangchan in the living room. "Chan, can I talk to you for a second?" Han asked, Bangchan nodded and let Han sit next to him. "What is it?" Bangchan asked, Han immediately reached into his pocket and showed Felix's pendant that he found in Hyunjin's jogging pants. Bangchan stared at the pendant, he then took it, "Where did you find it?" Bangchan asked, "Hyunjin's trouser pocket, this thing fell when I was going to wash Jeongin and Hyunjin's clothes," Han answered. Bangchan looked at the pendant then grabbed it, "Let's meet Hyunjin," Bangchan said then walked away.

Meanwhile, someone entered the room where Jeongin was being treated without Lee Know's knowledge. The person took Jeongin's IV tube and injected something into it.

"Hyunjin," Bangchan called when he saw Hyunjin in the hallway. Hyunjin turned his head, "What's wrong?" Hyunjin asked seeing Bangchan and Han approaching him, "We have to talk," Bangchan answered, Hyunjin tilted his head.

Bangchan, Han, and Hyunjin are now in Han's room. "Ok, this is intense..." Hyunjin said sitting across from Bangchan and Han with the lights a little dim. "Hyunjin, you haven't told me how you found Jeongin," Bangchan started the conversation. Hyunjin took a breath and started his story, "I was doing my night jogging routine, I did it around the city park, until I heard a loud scream at a crossroads, curious, I headed towards the source of the sound, I saw someone attacking someone else with a knife, I screamed to warn the assailant, he heard me and ran away, I didn't have time to chase him. I approached the person who was attacked by him, I was shocked when I found out that the victim was Jeongin, I panicked when he didn't answer when I called, didn't think anymore, I immediately carried him to mansion," Hyunjin finished his story.

"Did you see who attacked Jeongin?" Bangchan asked, Hyunjin shook his head, "Too dark, I could tell it was Jeongin because of the street lights there," Hyunjin replied. Bangchan turned to Han, Han nodded, "I found this in your jogging pants," said Han handed Felix's pendant to Hyunjin, Hyunjin accepted it, "How did Felix's pendant come to you?" Han asked. "This pendant, I found it beside Jeongin when I found him in a pool of blood," Hyunjin replied handing the pendant to Bangchan, "That's impossible, how--", "He's right Han," Bangchan interrupted Han's question. Han immediately looked at Bangchan, Bangchan showed the bloodstains that were cleaned on the pendant, Han took it, Shit, he's right, thought Han after re-examining the pendant.

"Alright Hyunjin, that's it, you may go," said Bangchan. Han was surprised to hear that, Han wanted to prevent Hyunjin from leaving, but Bangchan held him back, while Hyunjin had left Han's room.

Bangchan stood up, he also wanted to leave Han's room. "What the hell Chan? Why did you let him go?" Han protested, making Bangchan stop walking, "Our interrogation is finished, and the story is quite convincing," Bangchan answered calmly, "What do you mean? We don't know the details before he found Jeongin, what about the attacker that Hyunjin said? And again, what about Felix's pendant that suddenly was in Jeongin's hand?" Han asked successively, "We only need Hyunjin to tell us how he found Jeongin in his bad condition, for the rest he doesn't have to tell the story," explained Bangchan, hearing that, Han clenched his fist.

"Calm down Han, every piece of the puzzle must be examined carefully and calmly, we don't—,", "No," Han interrupted Bangchan's sentence, making him silent. Han sighed and looked at Bangchan, "I think Changbin is right, it's time for us to question your leadership," said Han, hearing Han's words, Bangchan clenched his fist, "What do you mean?" Asked Bangchan flatly. "You never wanted to be serious about solving this case, first about Felix's disappearance, and now for Jeongin's attacker, you never took this seriously, I don't know how your mind goes, but I can see, you slowly starting to let us go," Han replied, "If you don't want to help, then I'll do it myself," Han said as he slammed his bedroom door in Bangchan's face.

Bangchan's fist tightened, without realizing that his hand was bleeding, he sighed before finally leaving.

Meanwhile, Changbin's investigation leads him to an old abandoned building on the outskirts of town. "Sir, are you sure this is the place?" Asked one of the officers accompanying Changbin, Changbin nodded, "I'm sure, all the traces of blood left in the city lead to this place," Changbin explained, But, why? Changbin's mind looked at the rickety building. Changbin saw his subordinates staring at the building with a horrified look, "If you're scared, you can stay here, I need a guard at the front door so no one can disturbs," Changbin said then entered the old building alone.

Less than 30 minutes later, Changbin ran out with an injured arm, "Get in the car! Let's go!" Changbin's order, hearing it, Changbin's subordinates immediately started the car and accelerated after Changbin was already sitting beside him. However, from within the old building stepped out a person with flaming crimson hair. He stared at the police car driving away, with a snap of his finger, the police car exploded instantly, sending Changbin and subordinate flew.

Changbin's colleague died on the spot, while Changbin was still conscious, although his body was seriously injured. The crimson haired person approached Changbin who was almost dying, Changbin looked at the person, "Why... you..." Changbin said softly, "I have my reasons," said the person. He took a gun belonging to Changbin's partner and pointed it at Changbin, "See you later, Changbin," the man said then shot Changbin in the head.

A week passed, there was still no sign that Jeongin would wake up from his coma, Seungmin felt confused seeing Jeongin's health data. "I don't understand, he should have woken up two days ago," Seungmin muttered reading the board in his hand, "what's wrong with my prediction?" Seungmin asked. "How is it, Seungmin?" Lee Know asked across from Seungmin, Seungmin stared at Lee Know for a while, "I'm sorry Lee Know, I think Jeongin's coma will last longer than I expected, but...." Seungmin replied reading the board again. Lee Know waited for the continuation of Seungmin's sentence, "I'll check it again, in the meantime, I'll get another infusion for Jeongin," Seungmin explained, Lee Know only nodded.

Lee Know stayed in Jeongin's room, while Seungmin had left the room. "Jeongin, please wake up, we're worried about you," said Lee Know stroking Jeongin's head who was in a coma.

Seungmin put his forefinger on his chin, all the way to his room he thought, how could his predictions have missed far enough from usual, he tried to think of all kinds of factors that could cause Jeongin's coma to last longer. I can't think of a factor.... Seungmin thought, "Unless...."

Meanwhile, Bangchan was clutching his cellphone so tightly in his room that he didn't realize that his cellphone screen was starting to crack. On his cellphone there was a message that Bangchan had read, the message said that Changbin disappeared while on duty.
