ABOUT //
Born September 30th 1944, Barbara Fritz is a single, middle-aged woman who stays to herself for the most part, living in her lofty luxury apartment on the top floor at Covington Heights in Midtown New York. She sometimes enjoys different art forms: painting, sketching, interior design, and studying literature. She also attends Sunday morning church services at Calvary Freewill Baptist. With the sudden passing of her mother, she began living off her father's fortune at the age of twelve, but now works as a librarian assistant solely to "occupy" herself. Struggling to develop a healthy relationship with her father and her half-sister Cheryl, she harbors rejection and the fear of not being good enough. But with her staggering wealth, she makes monthly charitable donations to an organization called "Women's Wellness and Recovery Network" that supports female victims of sexual abuse, as she herself is a survivor. She was engaged to her high school sweetheart, Glen, but after a mental breakdown in college, and several lapses in her mental health following this event, the wedding was put on hold, and they haven't spoken in months.

ABOUT //
Born February 14th 1941 of Italian descent, Johnathan Giacchino is a single, middle-aged man who is a prominent member of the Giacchino family mafia ring, ran by his uncle Cesare. To various business owners and other crime factions also operating in New York, he is known simply as "The Doc" because of his unique torture skills revolving around human anatomy. Outside of his very demanding work life, he aspires to be acceptable in the eyes of God. Having witnessed the brutal murder of his father at the tender age of nine, he was taken under the stewardship of Father Franklin, who still to this day offers him guidance and correction. In addition, this led to his uncle Cesare introducing him to the "family business" so he could avenge his slain father, and subsequently learn to protect himself. He carries immense guilt for his actions as The Doc, and often visits Father Franklin at the church confessional to admit to his sins. But the part of himself that he keeps closest, and most secret among his peers, is Barbara Fritz: the only woman he has ever loved, or will. He fell for her in high school and has not been able to move on since. His love for her has turned into an obsession, spurring him to watch her closely in his free time, and even forge a way to enter her apartment at will. But that's as near as he will ever be to her, because he knows she would never love a man like him. It would take something truly catastrophic to make a physical and public entry into her life.
