It was a blistery night.
The cold breeze blew through the slit in my window and sent shivers down my spine as I clenched the duvet closer towards my chin.
I hugged my knees to my chest as the cold travelled through my skin.
I tried closing my eyes shut tighter but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't sleep.
Throwing the duvet off my body in a huff I closed the window shut and leaped back inside the warmth in my bed squinting my eyes shut.
A few minutes have past and I actually start falling back to sleep.
That's when my body jolted up in panic as one of the branches from the trees outside had struck against my window violently making an unusually loud thud. I clench onto my shirt as I sit up in my bed staring outside my window blankly as if there were a ghost knocking on my window trying to get in.
