'I Love you'

Hawks anxiously closed his eyes shut as the heat died down, Dabi had successfully fend of AFOs attack.

He found himself pressed against the villains chest like an idiot, in a brief moment their eyes met and it was clear what they had done. There was no way back.

"Dabi, you have ten seconds to surrender him or I'll be your enemy. Don't make me do this." AFOs voice shattered through the air. Oh god, is he going to help us or what's his plan? Hawks took a big step back from the villain and lifts his feather, a serious look on his face. It must be a trap. This was too good to be true.

A hand touched Hawks shoulder making him jump, luckily it was just Aizawa. The elder quietly pulled the hero back and away from Dabi but as soon as the flame villains eyes met his, he broke free.

A series of gasps were heard but right now all he wanted to do was fight just like Dabi was about to do for him. The heroes who were gathered behind them suspiciously eyed the pair. Especially Endeavors face showed a lot of frustration.

I must be an idiot but- Hawks train of thoughts was interrupted by Dabi yelling loudly for everyone to hear.

"Don't make me repeat myself again, If you touch what's mine I'll fucking end this stupid plan of yours myself. You heard me fuck face?" and with that he smirks at everyone present, Dabi knew this was the most stupid decision he could have done. Why bring himself up against the demon lord, for a hero?

Well.

It was Hawks. Not just some hero.

After their treehouse shenanigans he asked AFO to spare the one hero who secretly 'exchanged information' with him, and he had agreed!

Seemed like everything was just a lie but Dabi felt like what he was doing was right. What was more important now to him? Looking into those heavenly golden eyes or revenge on hero society and his dad?

Easy answer, his heart had decided the moment AFO tried to hurt the bird hero. He'd rather spend the rest of his life in prison than watch his love die. Hawks choked out a quiet "Thank you, I hope you knew what you're doing." Dabi ironically answered "Yeah me too."

The winged hero then wiped the blood off his face and fearlessly walked towards the villain, he didn't want to cause a scene but actually he did.

Right in front of the heroes and AFO he grabbed Dabi by his collar and hungrily pressed his lips onto his. Hawks chest tightened with anxiety but soon he felt the villain smile into their kiss. It was a geniue blissful smile with a hint of something wicked.

Only for a few seconds they kissed on the battlefield, then parting and exchanging said words with their eyes.

'I love you'

No one said it, but both knew. Dabi licked his lips and lovingly grabbed the blondes waist. I think this is worth fighting for.

The wind blew around their bodies and with a loud bang their moment was over.

The final battle began for real this time. It wasn't heroes against villains anymore but love against hate. Somewhere midst all the chaos there was Endeavor, who had just seen the guy he was in love with kiss another. For the very first time his chest felt heavy with heartbreak.

There they were, Hawks and Dabi fighting back to back. Why does it hurt so much?

"Endeavor, get a grip and fight!" it was Aizawa who angrily pushed the flame hero out of his shocked state. Yeah, he's right. I knew this wasn't meant to be but why am I still sad?

The redhead shook his head and took a run for his opponent, there were hardly a handful of heros present all just to fight AFO. While Endeavor finally took the lead, Hawks fell back and gathered his feathers back into his wings.

Only for seconds he had time to take a break, which was also when he was pulled behind a big rock. People were screaming and loud thuds vibrated through the ground, but as soon as the hero caught a glimpse of Dabi the stress lifted off his shoulders.

"You're doing great, I think my old man got it." he softly spoke and pressed Hawks against the stone, who hissed in pain. He took one hit after another for God knows how long.

"I don't know how long I'll make it, Dabi. I can't believe you're doing this." with a sob Hawks scrunched his eyes. His head throbbed and he must be covered in bruises from head to toe. Dabi just plants a kiss on his forehead. "Doing what? Helping you?" "Yes you idiot." to that the villain only could laugh. "I don't care about the rest of those hero fucks, but they can't protect you so I will."

Dabi grunts and catches sight of another big rock being thrown into their direction, but before he could react he was pulled into the air by Hawks.

"What a Dreamteam, you two. Just wait." AFO laughs and put his focus on aiming at the flying pair, only to get a blast of fire straight into his face. Endeavor got him good.

Hawks suddenly flew even higher with Dabi in his arms, the wind was loud but not too loud for him to talk. "I have an idea, will you do it?"

Who was Dabi to refuse a good plan?

So they flew to a drastic height. Hawks wasn't scared at all but the villain maybe a little, heights weren't his speciality but he'd manage. Once they were up the bird hero dropped his lover and watched him go down like a used match.

His heart skipped a beat but he had trust.

Dabi gathered all his heat and fire, he was falling at high speed. The adrenaline boosted his confidence and the second he met AFOs gaze, he released all of it. Like a big explosion but still not to it's true potential.

The blast killed nearly everything in close proximity and luckily there was no one else caught up in it.

Fuck, is he okay? Hawks could only see the blast from above, there's no way AFO survived this. But did Dabi?

NO, NO NONONOO WHAT DID I DO?
