"Freedom!"

In the middle of the rowdy group of scampering demons, Wooyoung broke free from the wide open school doors. They emerged into the fiery pits of hell, sucking in the hot air from countless lava streams and fires burning from nothingness. Their roars bellowed through the street and roused nearby elder demons.

Finally, the last day of school. The certificates in their hands meant they graduated their basic education. Though at the cusp of adulthood, they were full-fledged demons now.

"I can't believe it," Yunho muttered as he gaped at the black paper in his hands. His name was written in the letters glowing like fire. By his side, Mingi kept glancing between their documents to check for mistakes that could hint at a forgery.

No more early classes about boring torture methods.

No more getting their favourite snack rats taken away during lessons.

And best of all no more damned Miss Andromeda, the sole demon in hell so boring that even their sadistic kin drowned in misery listening to her.

Wooyoung let out another hoot of success, uncaring for uninvolved bystanders. He got his diploma and he would never look at those accursed halls again.

"Suck it, losers. Enjoy your damn suffering," he growled at a nearby group of middle graders. They scampered away, back inside those dreadfully boring corridors.

Finally, Wooyoung had time to laze around. Finally, he could pursue his passion.

A flame sparked from his index when he angled it at the corner of his sheet. Satisfaction gleamed in his eyes when it lit up.

"W-wait," Seonghwa protested, ever the goody-two-shoes who paid actual attention in class. He was so uptight Wooyoung wondered once whether he was a mixed spawn, but nope, the lad was just the most mellow demon hell had ever seen. Wooyoung adopted him as his best friend when he got bored with seeing brainless demons pick on Seonghwa.

"I don't need it anymore," Wooyoung purred, tail coiling behind him as he watched in joy how the last reminder of his school life crumbled to ashes. He was free now. No evidence of his torment.

"Lucky since you got into the academy. Mingles and I need it to find a job," Yunho groaned. His tall horns loomed in the air as he curled an arm around Mingi's nape. They cosied up to one another, always so close even when they swore up and down they were no more than friends.

Wooyoung's smug smile broadened.

"I will share my riches with you later on. You can scrub the floors of my mansion. Hey, let's go celebrate already. I'm starving."

Yes, Wooyoung got into the Academy of Villains. The most prestigious academy in all of hell, where young demons learned to be the most vile of menaces. Vile torture methods, how to reap souls and how to draw the life force from other beings, all of that good stuff. Nothing so exhausting as anatomy studies.

The best demons graduated from that academy and Wooyoung idolised them. He, too, wanted to go to war against the arrogant angels and he wanted to dawn despair upon the world of the foolish humans.

Wooyoung would be the worst of them all. He would awe even the demons who had known him all his life.

But for now, it was time to relish his holiday and celebrate their graduation. With his friends in tow, Wooyoung made for the town to get rowdy.
