When night came, the two of us went to sit underneath the shade of the tree.
We watched the stars from above, admiring the wonderful scenery.
"Dale...where is heaven?" the words came as a silent whisper, but he heard it nonetheless.
"Somewhere underneath the stars, I guess"
"Why aren't I in heaven yet? Have I done something wrong?" questions began to cloud my mind.
"Should I be in hell instead? If yes, then why am I still here?" I turned to him.
"I don't know..." he answered, still looking up to the skies.
"Maybe God has other plans for you" he whipered back.
"How long have you been here, Dale?" I asked him.
Now that I've thought about it... When I woke up, Dale was already here. It makes me wonder why and how is he here.
"Long enough" he said rather too quickly.
"How did you get here?-" Dale cut me off before I could even ask.
"Could you please stop the questions?" he asked irritated.
"It's getting really annoying, you know" he snapped.
His eyes turned sharp and his brows were knitted into a frown.
"I...I'm sorry" I was kind of terrified by him.
I shifted my gaze to the ground and somehow, found my feet interesting to look at.
Dale stood up and gone off to somewhere. I was left alone on the ground with just the thick blanket of silence to cover me.
I felt guilty about what happened.
But then I felt even more curious...
First, he claims not to have a name and then decides to make up one just 'cause I talked him out of it.
Second, he doesn't have a family.
Third, he refuses to answer why he's here...
There's something wrong about this boy and I just might have to find out about it.
I lay my back against the trunk of the tree and stared back at the stars.
I just stared at them straight until morning.
I watched the skies turn from dark to different shades of red and orange.
The sun is already seen and yet Dale is still hiding somewhere by the woods.
I've gotten myself so used to having him beside me, and now I feel just as empty as I was before, now that he's gone...
