*Beep. Beep. Beep*
I rolled over and groaned, bringing my hand out from under the blanket and slapping at my bedside table in search for my phone. When I finally got a hand on it I opened my eyes, shutting off my alarm.
Huffing loudly, I slowly sat up while rubbing the sleep from my eyes. It was currently 7:00am and I needed to be at work by 8:00am.
Getting up, I walked over to my draws and grabbed out a pair of boxers, black skinny jeans and my maroon coloured work shirt then headed to the bathroom.
After my shower I walked to the kitchen checking the time, 7:15am, enough time to cook breakfast before needing to leave. Putting my hair up into a man bun, I make my way over to the fridge, pulling out eggs and bacon.
Just as I start cooking I hear my roommate and best friend sit at the kitchen bench. Without turning around to look at him I give him a wave knowing that the smell of bacon and eggs is what brought him out of his room.
"Morning mate." Came a thick Irish accent. "You cooking enough fo-." I was quick to cut him off. "Niall, there's no need to ask every time if I'm cooking for you too. You know the answer." I chuckle. "Just making sure mate." He says as while putting bread into the toaster.
Once everything had finished cooking we both took a seat at the kitchen counter, sitting in silence before Niall felt the need to start talking.
"What time do you finish at the bakery today?" He questioned, mouth half full of food. "Um. Im scheduled to finish at 5:00 but I'm closing so I might not make it out until 5:30 after counting up the till." I answer his question.
"How do you feel about heading to the pub after? I've got the day off." He asked. "Yeah, I should be up for it. I'll come home before we leave so I can shower and then we can go together." I say as I stand up, putting both our dirty dishes in the sink. Not waiting for an answer I walk out of the kitchen towards my bedroom to put my shoes and socks on.
Turning my phone on I check the time and see that it's 7:35. As I walk past the bathroom I hear the shower running so I yell out a quick goodbye to Niall before heading out the door and to my car.
Once I get to my car, a cheap second hand Toyota Corolla, I turn it on to warm it up and connect my music to the Bluetooth. Shania Twain's 'Man I Feel Like A Woman' blasted through my speakers. As I back out of the driveway I check the time once more, 7:42, plenty of time to get to work.
15 minutes later I was pulling up into one of the bakery's staff parking bays. Shutting off the engine I get out, locking the car and walking to the bakery's doors. I could tell Barbara had already started setting up as the sign was already out the front and as I walked inside, bell above me chiming, I could see all the chairs already on the ground.
"Morning Barbara." I yell out as I make my way behind the counter reaching to grab my apron and name badge. "Morning Harry." She responds, poking her head out from the kitchen wall that's behind me.
"Do you think we'll get many in today?" I ask and I walk over to the door turning our 'closed' sign to 'open'. "I'm not sure." Barbara quickly responds before continuing. "The weathers really good today but it's also a Thursday. Lunch could be busy though with the construction going on down the road." I just hum in response as I hear the bell chiming, signaling that someone had walked in.
