Submerged

Chapter 1

Lacy sat on the dock, her feet dipping into the clear water. The smell of fresh lake water wafted towards her, begging her to swim. "Lacy Hintergrale!" Piper fumed. "You no good liar!"

"What did I do piper?" Asked Lacy

"What did you do?!?!"

"Umm yes?"

Piper walked to sit on the dock as well. "You promised you would come to the party." She pouted.

Lacy laughed. "That stupid thing?" She stretched her legs out of the water and fit them into her sandals. "You know I don't do well in large groups."

"Yeah yeah." Piper groaned. "You could have at least told me. I sat at your house for a half an hour!"

"Oh my gosh!" Lacy sighed. "I'm really sorry." She turned to walk up the grass and Piper followed. "I would have went but it's always the same thing." She counted on her fingers as she listed them. "Someone playing truth or dare. Some stupid couple kissing. And probably some weirdo trying to get attention."

"You were right about the weirdo." Piper laughed. "Zachary was there. Oh! And Leo was looking for you."
Lacy sighed. Leo was her best friend since kindergarten. He had charcoal hair, chocolate eyes, and a smile that could melt a girl. She was the only one immune to it. She had a crush on him, but it was one of those things that would never happen. "Earth to Lacy?!?!" Said Piper. "I thought for a moment there you were thinking about Leo." She said sarcastically.

"One of these days you are going to kill me piper." Remarked Lacy as she hoisted her leg Over her bike. "Until then, I'm working on my music. Hopefully then I can get your remarks out of my brain."

"You never can Lacy! You've heard them since we met. They're permanently implanted!" Piper joked.

"Darn it!" Cried Lacy. She pedaled her bike home waving to Piper. Yeesh. That girl loved to talk.
