my classes flew by really quick and i'm glad cause i dead don't wanna be here no more. as soon as the bell rang i got up and got all my things together cause this my last day.
(we gotta pretend it's the last day cause ass not consistent and summer already almost over)
"yo lailani" i heard kalin say taping my shoulder "yeah?" i say turning my attention to him. "can i like get ya number since it's the last day?" he asked oh shit i thought to myself. "uh yeah lemme see your phone" i said he gave my his phone smiling i put my number in and saved it as "lani🩷" "thank you mh" he said now walking off.
i walked out the school and got on the bus i finally got to my stop where me and darrian got off. "broo it's summer lani why you look like that?" he said referring to the look i had on my face.

i was laying down when i got a text from a unknown number. i assumed it was kalin so i open the message

i was about to answer when yahlani came in the room crying. "what's wrong yanni" i said dropping my phone and running over to her "ma mami" she said crying in my shoulder. i ran down stairs with her in my arms and seen my mom on the floor. "DARRIAN" i screamed as yanni started crying louder "yo wtf" he yelled running over to her while i ran back up stairs and called 911. "lani stay" i said when i left the room she started screaming "911" what's you emergency" the dispatcher said "my mom is on the floor and won't respond to us trying to wake her" i said with tears forming i'm my eyes " aye lani she not fuckin breathing either" ddot yells.

"ok sweet heart do you know CPR" the lady asked me "no i don't" "okay baby what you want you do is put your dominant hand on top and the other at the bottom then interlock your fingers" i did as she said "now put your hands on her chest and push 1 2 3 then pinch her nose and blow into her mouth" i did exactly that. but nothing. "she not waking up" i said with tears now streaming down my face. "police are on the way now just stay on the phone with me ml" she said she must have tracked my phone cause i didn't tell her the address "ok"

"you mother has brain cancer" the doctor says i drop to my knees and cry she literally all me and yanni have and we're not going to live with our dad after what he did to me. i don't want my baby sister to go through that.

"stop dad leave me alone" i screamed as he had my on his shoulder taking me to my room. "it will be real fast" he put me down on the bed and got a hold of my shorts. "noo stop" i yelled and kicked at him but it was too late he put his hand on my mouth and told me to "shut up"
Present
i picked up yanni and hugged her tight "is there anything you can do" ddot asked "no there is nothing we can do but chemotherapy but it will just slowly kill her" the doctor said as i just cried even more

2 days later
i heard a knock at the door i went downstairs and looked out the window. it was dd "leave david" i said threw the door "mama just let me in" i gave in and opened the door he came up and just hugged me tightly as i cried into his chest "i'm sorry about ya mom lani i really am" he said picking me up. i wrap my legs around his waist and laid my head on his shoulder. "i just don't know why she never told us we could've helped sooner" i said as he walked me to my room. "it's gonna be ok mh" he says

1 week later
i was laying down on my phone with yanni laying down on my chest sleep. when i got a phone call from the hospital i took a deep breath and answered.
"hello" i said "are you at home or somewhere safe" they said "yes"
"we are soory to inform you but she's passed on"
