Jaden's POVI DON'T KNOW WHY I agreed to this. I really don't.
Me and Pip were standing before the front door of the Singh family.
She said she was supposed to meet up with Sal's brother, Ravi Singh for an interview. I had asked her if I could intertwine In between and she said it's no problem, as long as I don't cross the line.
I agreed.
Of course I did.
Pip decided to knock on the door and honestly I was afraid it would fall down. Don't get me wrong or anything. It looked like a very stable door, actually- no. No it didn't. And the house was.. how do I put this.. well.... Horrendous.
The windows were broken and on one side of the house was painted the word 'scum'.
Why didn't they just move elsewhere?
Everyone hates them anyways.
Plus they're house is destroyed.
Damn, It really does look haunted.
3rd persons POV
When Pip couldn't stand it no longer, she picked the sweating Tupperware of fresh muffins out from under her arm an turned to walk away. "Let's go." The ghost house was closed to visitors and disappointment burned.
"Huh? Wait for me!" Jaden stumbled down the stairs, following Pip.
Only a few steps away, they heard the sound of scraping and clicking and turned back to see Ravi Singh in the doorway, his hair ruffled and his face drawing tight in confusion.
"Oh," Pip said in a high-pitched voice that wasn't her own. "Sorry, I thought you told me to come back Friday. Today's Friday."
"Um, yeah, I did," Ravi said, scratching his head with his eyes somewhere around Pip's ankles. "But... honestly, I thought... I thought you were just taking the piss. A prank. I wasn't expecting you to actually come back. And I certainly wasn't expecting you to bring a friend.."
Jaden awkwardly waved as he eyed her.
Ravi could recognize that face from miles. She looked just like her sister. Almost Identical he'd say.
That was Jaden Bell, Andie Bell's sister.
But what was she doing here?
Her parents have probably banned her from getting close to this house.
Or at least warned her not to communicate with the Singhs.
And if so, what is she doing here??
Ravi wondered.
"That's, um, unfortunate." Pip tried her best to not look hurt. "No prank, I promise. I'm serious."
"Yeah, you seem like the serious type." The back of his head must've been exceptionally itchy. Or maybe Ravi Singh's itchy head was equivalent to Pip's useless facts: armour and shield when the knight inside was squirming.
Yeah, whenever Pip's nervous, she'd always start sputtering random facts. It's kind of amusing.
"She's irrationally serious." Jaden decided to speak up. Pip smiled at her and then held the Tupperware box out to him. "And we made muffins."
"Like bribery muffins?"
"That's what the recipe said, yeah."
Ravi's mouth twitched, not quite a smile. Jade only appreciated how hard his life must be in this town, the spectre of his dead brother reflected on his own face. It was no wonder smiling was hard for him. He didn't have is easy like I did. Everyone was disgusted of the Singhs and treated them poorly.
