Barry Allen wakes up in a different city after the Crisis. This Central City wasn't the one that he knew. And he didn't have Iris or any of his surrogate family with him. But that didn't mean that he was alone. He walked outside of his apartment and saw that Kara Danvers had lived next door to him, and he found himself knocking on her door.
"Barry? What are you doing here?" Kara asked.
"Good morning, Kara. I just-um, woke up this morning and I discovered that we're neighbors." Barry says in stride.
"We're on the same Earth now. That's amazing." Kara said, smiling brightly.
"I mean isn't that strange? I thought you lived in National City." Barry clarified.
Kara searched the depths of her mind before answering him.
"Yes, but as soon as I woke up, I was here, actually it's a big surprise for me too." Kara said to him.
Barry and Kara locate J'onn J'onzz and kindly ask him to restore Kara's memories of the previous lifetime.
J'onn restores Kara's memories, and she remembers everything now.
Even the feelings Kara has for Barry Allen....
"So how is Iris?" Kara asked nervously.
"Oh, I um-wouldn't know anything about that. Because we kinda drifted apart after high school and college. And she went to Gotham City, and decided to live in that hellhole from now on." Barry says honestly, "I think the last thing I heard, she and Luke Fox tried to be a couple."
"Oh, I'm so sorry Barry." Kara said to him.
"I don't think it would've worked out between us. Me and Iris, because somebody like Felicity Smoak or Caitlin Snow are closer to my own personality. Iris is just one of the people I grew up in the same household with." Barry says, trying to look indifferent.
Kara nodded as she looked at Barry.
"So, what happened to National City? Or rather your life that was there?" Barry asks, wanting to catch up with Kara.
They sit down at a coffee shop and chat with one another.
Kara held her coffee smiling a little at Barry.
Barry typed in the words National City on his phone's web browser and it showed him the top news stories for that particular city.
"Looks like the parasite is on its way back. You should go." Barry said and Kara got up but then she looked at Barry.
"Would you like to come with me?" Kara asked in a shy, rosy-cheeked way, which Barry found cute.
Barry nods and follows her.
When Barry follows Kara in their uniforms, Allen finds himself eventually staring at Danvers' ass.
Barry averted his gaze and asked, "So, who is this parasite?"
"Parasite is Raymond Jensen. He used to be a DEO agent. He rejected the alien parasite and fell into a coma, but I guess things have changed." Kara replied.
"You know, I honestly thought Parasite was one of the rogues your cousin fought over the years." Barry said in response.
"There was another parasite, but that was some time ago when my cousin was just starting out." Kara said, smiling at him.
"You know, if you haven't talked to him in a while maybe you should get in touch with Kal, after this?" Barry asks, as he helps Kara track down the Parasite.
"Oh, Kal is off Earth with Lois in Argo City so that Lois has a much smoother pregnancy, so he asked me to take care of things." Kara explained.
"So, is this Raymond Jensen reasonable? Or do we have to kick some butt?" Barry asks as he found Parasite with Kara.
"We're going to have to kick some ass." Kara said but Barry just smiled as he snapped his fingers.
Barry and Kara double teamed the Parasite, having worked as a team, before many years ago.
Barry wasted no time and soon punched the parasite with a lot of power. "Speed Punch."
Barry restrained the Parasite as Kara placed a power dampening collar around Raymond Jensen's neck.
Barry smiled at Kara who blushed deeply, she ran her hands through her hair and coughed a little. "I think we better take him to the DEO."
"You two, don't understand. I've lost control of the parasite and it won't let me die." Raymond mentions as Alex locks him away.
"You'll get whatever help you need." Barry said and Kara nodded.
"Right now, I feel an uncontrollable need to eat a lot of fish, and I don't know why. I'm not a Penguin." Ray says.
Barry and Kara just looked at each other, not understanding.
"I don't know what it is, but it probably has something to do with the parasite within me." Ray clarifies.
Ray passes out and goes into cardiac arrest.
After ensuring Ray was taken care of properly, Barry and Kara were talking to Alex and J'onn.
"So, how's Kelly, Alex?" Barry says as an ice breaker while reaching for a bottle of water, "Also, are you and Kelly going to see either Barbie or Oppenheimer in the theater?"
"She's good. And we haven't decided yet. Would you two like to come with us?" Alex asked, looking at the two of them.
"Sure," Barry agrees, "And I've been called a "Boomer" because I usually decide things like this with a coin flip." Barry mentions: to Kara, Alex and J'onn. But he flips a coin, anyway.
"Heads for Barbie, tails for Oppenheimer." Barry says as he lets the dollar coin hit the ground.
It landed on...
