"Hahhh, I'm lost..." I muttered to myself as I continued walking through the dense and labyrinthine Lost Bamboo Forest. The sounds of Mokou and Kaguya's bullets echoed in the distance.
"Those two are certainly something else..." I sighed.
I kept walking aimlessly, hoping to find my way out of the bewildering forest and back to Eientei.
As I wandered through the Lost Bamboo Forest, trying to find my way out, I suddenly heard a voice calling out from the distance.
"Hey, over there! Are you lost?"
I turned towards the voice and saw two young women approaching me. The first one had light purple hair tied into a ponytail with a yellow ribbon and brown eyes. She wore a dark red dress with a strap on the right over a white short-sleeved blouse. The other woman had long, flowing sandy blonde hair and golden eyes. She wore a dark blue dress with a strap on the left over a white long-sleeved blouse.
"Huh? This is my first time seeing them..." I thought to myself as I slowly walked toward them.
"Ah... Introductions," the woman with purple hair said, clearing her throat. "My name is Watatsuki no Yorihime... and this is my sister." She gestured towards the woman beside her.
"I'm Watatsuki no Toyohime." The sister smiled at me while fanning herself gracefully.
"Nice to meet you both," I responded, bowing respectfully.
"My~ Aren't you polite," Toyohime remarked with amusement.
"Thank you."
"Now that we have introduced ourselves, how about we all go to Eientei and greet Lady Yagokoro?"
"Lady Yagokoro? You mean Miss Eirin?" I asked a hint of confusion in my voice.
"Right~ How about you stay there for the night until it's daytime?" Toyohime suggested, her eyes shining with hospitality.
As we walked towards Eientei, Toyohime leading the way, I began to explain what had happened to me. I shared the details of my first encounter with Gensokyo, the injuries I sustained from the old capital, and how Lady Yukari had transported me to Gensokyo. Both Watatsuki sisters listened attentively as I spoke.
"Hm? Now that I think about it, you're right," Yorihime remarked, sniffing the air. "You do have the scent of medicine."
"I must apologize for the trouble I've caused, But I assure you, I'm currently recovering"
"No need to worry, dear Shun," Toyohime reassured me with a warm smile. "Eientei is a place of healing, and Lady Yagokoro is exceptionally skilled when it comes to recovery. You'll be in good hands."
I nodded, grateful for their reassurance. Deep down, however, a sense of unease lingered. I couldn't shake the thought of the trouble I might face for sneaking Lady Kaguya out of Eientei.
As we continued our walk, the weight of my actions weighed heavily on my mind. I contemplated the best way to approach the situation and face the consequences head-on.
Lost in my thoughts, I followed Toyohime's lead, walking alongside her and Yorihime toward Eientei. The soft rustling of bamboo leaves and the gentle sounds of nature provided a backdrop to my contemplations.
As we approached the familiar entrance of Eientei, I knew that I had to face Miss Eirin and explain what had transpired. It was time to own up to my actions and accept the consequences.
"Here I go." I took a deep breath and stepped inside.
Eirin, noticing my presence, turned her attention towards me. "Hm? Shun, what are you doing here?"
"Miss Eirin..." I began, hesitating for a moment before continuing. "I need to talk to you."
Eirin's gaze shifted, noticing the two sisters standing behind me. "Oh? Hello there, you two," she greeted them, her tone polite and composed.
"Good evening, Lady Yagokoro," the sisters responded in unison, kneeling down respectfully.
"You may stand up," Eirin gestured, her voice gentle. "For now, please step inside... except for Shun."
I felt a shiver run down my spine as Eirin's smile grew wider. Her smile, though pleasant, held an air of mystery that sent a chill through my bones.
I exchanged glances with Toyohime and Yorihime, silently communicating my uncertainty. With a slight nod from them.
As the two sisters entered a nearby room, Eirin approached me, her gaze fixated on my arms as she lifted them up. "Umm... Miss Eirin?"
"What's wrong?" she replied calmly, her voice soothing.
"Are you giving me a check-up?"
"Yes, it's only natural."
"Oh... Yeah, I noticed that you snuck her out," Eirin sighed, her expression shifting to one of slight disappointment. "I've been telling her that I would allow her to go once I had a day off, but I guess she couldn't wait. She really wanted to attend the takoyaki party in the human village."
I couldn't help but feel a mixture of guilt and relief upon hearing Eirin's words. Guilt, because I had played a part in Lady Kaguya's escapade, and relief because at least Eirin was aware of the situation.
"Eh... So does that mean...?"
"That's right," Eirin confirmed, her tone firm yet understanding. "However, that doesn't mean you are allowed to go outside either. You are still in the process of recovering, and it's crucial that you focus on your health."
"Thank you... Miss Eirin."
"No worries, though it may not seem like I have forgiven you just yet," Eirin said, her tone calm but firm. She then directed her gaze towards Reisen, who was peering through the slightly ajar door with a glare in her eyes. "You might have to apologize to that rabbit over there who took care of you."
I followed Eirin's gaze and noticed Reisen's intense glare directed at me. Her eyes seemed to shine with a hint of annoyance. I couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy at the sight. "Eek..."
