"So...you're telling me that Chiya was wrong about where this girl is?! Chiya is never wrong," Arashi said, outraged. We were sitting in the living room of Giana's place, trying to figure out our next move.

"I'm not saying that she was lying or that she was wrong. She could've been right when we were at her place. My friend could've been moved to the ninth dimension. Someone must know that I'm here," I said.

"The big man must want you really bad if he's moved her to the ninth dimension," Giana said.

"Yes, but why?! Why does he want me so badly?!"

"Because of your other side. The side that's not human. It intrigues him. That's the only explanation," Arashi said.

"I don't even know what the other side of me is! And Chiya said that if I don't figure it out before we get there, we will all die!"

"Then I guess we'll just have to figure out what you are," Giana said. "We have four dimensions left to go through to get to her. The next few dimensions are spaced further apart than the ones behind us. We'll figure it out. We have time."

"But she might not have that much time. Especially if..."

"She's perfectly safe," Giana said.

"Huh?" I asked, dumbfounded.

"As long as he wants you, why would he kill her? He'll use her as leverage to get you there. Bait. Then as soon as you're there, he'll have no more use for her except to get what he wants from you. He's using her as a tool. Nothing more. He wants you to come to him. So...we'll play right into his hands. But we need a strategy for getting out of that ninth dimensional door. There's no one I know of who has ever made it out, so we need a really good plan."

"We'll figure it out," Arashi said. "Now let's get moving. It's only going to get darker and more dangerous from here."
