Chapter Three

Sitting on the bed cuddling is Arianna and her husband Richard.

It was the early part of the morning, around 6am.

They just stood there in silence, enjoying each other's warmth and company. Even though they are not saying a word to each other, that moment speaks a lot of things.

Their love and understanding, that alone serves as them professing their affections to each other.

" I heard you talking about your recently gotten case with Barrister Rinderson earlier, what is it all about?", Richard broke the silence not stopping his soft caress on her body.

Arianna nodded and replied,

"Yes, it is political",

His brows arched with confusion,

"Political?", He asked curiously.

"Yes, the man seems to be involved in human and drug trafficking, it is a big case but investigation is going on ",she replied softly.

His interest perked up more .

"So how come it is involved with politics?", He asked curiously and Arianna smiled..

Her husband is not alwys this curious and inquisitive about her cases, but he seems more interested in this and that alone excites her .

She likes informing him about everything about her work .

"Well.....",she trailed clearing her throats loudly.

"The case is all about senator Fabian and from all the investigations and evidences we found out he is kind of involved in dirty jobs, this case is kind of leading us back to Governor Delagado ", Arianna explained.

"Governor Delagado? You mean the one you ssenteced to Ten years imprisonment?", Richard asked , his hands ceased from moving on her body.

Arianna nodded "Yes , I think he still have allies working for him and and we received an information of the senator being in contact with him.",

Richard said nothing and Arianna took this as a go ahead.

"Richard I think they both are into some kind of dirty jobs", she added.

Richard body froze literally.

"Dirty jobs? How?",he said his brows furrowed.

Arianna move away from his embrace to stare at him full in the face.

"I am sort of sure about this Richard, but I think they both are involved with the underworld and have something to do with children who always go missing nowadays. What do you think?",

Richard looked shocked and a little bit carried away.

He opened his mouth to talk but words failed him, it was like he went speechless.

"Richard", she called staring at him intensely and a bit worried on the terrifying look on his face.

He gulped down hard, "I..I..I , why do you think so? You can't be conclusive without a proof",he stuttered a little.

"I know, but I just have this gut feeling about it and you know my gut is always right".

He pressed further,"Arianna you can't just assume things about all of it, those people are men in power. They own the country ".

She sighed,"it is still under investigation, but I am sure all the proof will point at them definitely ", she shrugged her shoulders.

Richard sighed his eyes filled with hidden worries and confusion

"You......Arianna...I", he stuttered.

""What's wrong honey ", she asked on seeing how much disorganized and dismayed he looks.

She placed her hand on his shoulders lightly.

Richard rubbed his face with his palm before he talked.

"How come you got so many information by now?"

Arianna shrugged nonchalantly,

"They are just so easy to get your hands on"

Richard sighed,"Love, those people are dangerous and very very desperate, you shouldn't be involved with such case",

Arianna brows raised in confusion, where was that coming from?.

"Richard I don't understand what you are saying", She said sitting up properly on the bed .

Richard stared into her eyes as he rubbed the back of his head anxiously.

"Arianna, the thing is ...",he trailed not knowing where to begin.

She raised her left eye up in curiosity.

"Arianna this case is dangerous, those people aren't what we see them as"

"And that is why they ought to be exposed, being a government official doesn't make one above the law".

From what Richard could see, he can tell that her lawyer instincts is on.

Arguing with her isn't the best thing ever,but he was going to give it a try.

"Getting involve with people like them isn't wise enough, I am very sure you are the only judge who choose to get involve with this" ,Richard said anto be honest he is very right.

Arianna Rodriguez is the only judge who would ever accept such case,she really got the nerves.

"What are you trying to say Richard?",

"What I am getting across to you is that....some things are meant to be ignored even if we know or see it",he said calmly.

He took her hands into his , their eyes locked in an enigmatic gaze.

"So I should just look away and act as if I did not see it?", Arianna asked with a small frown engraved on her face.

Richard sighed,"I just don't want to lose you, please ",he muttered gently staring deep into her soul.

Arianna let out a small smile, she wrapped her arms round his neck in a hug.

"I'll be fine, I promise", she said .

But that didn't make his uneasiness and bad feeling go away, but he hugged her back anyways letting the topic slide for that day.

"I love you", he said hugging her more tight and closer to himself.

Arianna felt that that I love you hold so many meanings but she waved the thought off.

"And I love you more",
