Erik
- the multitalented musical genius known as The Phantom of the Opera. His mother was half French half English while his father was a quarter German. Erik was born three months after his father was killed in a construction accident, with the right side of his face horribly deformed, while the left side had a striking resemblance to his late father. As a result of his facial deformity, his vain and selfish mother refused to name him, and was very abusive towards him because she didn't want the responsibility of raising a child on her own, especially if he had a deformed face; in fact, she was upset when she learned of her pregnancy because she was concerned that her figure would be ruined. Forced to wear a mask from a young age due to his mother refusing to so much as look at him, Erik exhibited a strong interest and talent in music and architecture, but his mother scorned and rejected him, claiming that he was evil. She sold Erik to a traveling band of gypsies when he was seven years old so that she wouldn't have to take care of him, or look at him. He was rescued by Madame Giry seven years later, and brought to her apartment and given time to physically recover before being brought to the Paris Opera House, where he made his home in the cellars. Despite the threats he makes and the pranks he pulls on the management and other members of the said Opera House, he respects Madame Giry greatly, and never harms her or her daughter, Meg. He notices Narissa one night when he sees her reading in the Opera Library, and he soon becomes protective of her as they spend more time together and he sees how compassionate and brave she is. Erik soon finds himself falling in love with her when she sees his face and her only concern is how much pain he suffered because of it. Emilie admits that one thing that unnerved her when she first saw him was how he towered over Narissa. He is quite tall, and his appearance and voice are that of Ivan Ozhogin from the Moscow version of The Phantom of the Opera, with intense, storm gray eyes and black hair. He is 28 years old.

Narissa D'Loire Dantes
- a young girl with a gift for music, her forte being the harp. According to Erik, Narissa's voice is even more beautiful than Christine's, with her only setback being her stage fright. She is three years younger than her sister, Emilie Louise. Her father was arrested and imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit when her mother was four months pregnant with her, and as a result, she has no memories of him; she and Emilie Louise only know of him from what their mother told them, and the photos she kept. She witnessed her mother's murder following her submission of the appeal to have her husband's case reinvestigated, and was so traumatized by what she saw that she couldn't speak for almost two years, although she wrote down what she saw so her sister and Monsieur Morrel would know the truth. Like Tatiana, she has an elfin appearance with long, wavy, mahogany red hair which ends past her waist in a V. She is also petite, slender, has baby faced, elfin features, pale skin, and teal blue (often described as clear blue green) eyes which are noted to be more blue than green, and more green than blue - another physical trait she shares with her mother. She is also intelligent, brave, and emotionally strong. Narissa loves to read when she isn't playing music, although she is a bit naive since she is oblivious to the attention her beauty attracts wherever she goes. As a result of witnessing her mother's death, she is often quiet and withdrawn, although she is noted to be quite sassy every now and then, and also not the type to go down without a fight. She encounters Erik and the Count not long after she and her sister arrive at the Paris Opera House, and they take notice of her. While she feels safe with Erik, Narissa is quite frightened of the Count for she can feel that something is just off about him, and recognizes him through his multiple disguises on more than one occasion; it takes a while for her to warm up to him and trust him. She is the one who comforts Erik on the night Christine betrays him for Raoul, and doesn't judge him for his appearance; she soon falls in love with him as she gets to know him better, although she often worries that she might only be a substitute for Christine. When Christine becomes insanely jealous of her due to her romance with Erik and how she outshines her in every way, Narissa refuses to be intimidated by her, exposing just how shallow and delusional Christine really is. She is 17 years old.
