Startled the two quickly ran to the river were there was a crowd of Romans starting to form many with their weapons out ready to attack something. Castillo quickly found out what it was.
It was three teenagers, similar to his age as one of them carried an old woman on their back. Castillo quickly recognised two of them to be Hazel and Frank, his only friends that he had in the fifth cohort, and there was a new boy one he had never seen before. He was a bit taller than Castillo, he had a Mediterranean complexion, messy jet-black hair and a pair of see green eyes. He was the one carrying the old woman on his back.
"Well that was a lovely trip," the old woman said, "thank you, Percy Jackson, for bringing me to camp Jupiter"
Reyna made a choking sound, "Percy....Jackson?" She said as if she recognised the name. Slowly Castillo remembered that he too knew the name of Percy Jackson, after all who could forget the same person that destroyed his sister's island.
"Percy Jackson" Castillo confirmed, "how.....perfect".
Percy focused on the two hoping to see familiar faces. Percy sadly didn't recognise them but he could see the looks on their faces, Reyna looked at him as if he came out of her nightmares whilst Castillo held a confused and almost disgusted look on his face.
The old woman laughed in delight, "oh, yes. You three will have so much fun together!"
The old lady quickly began to glow a brilliant golden light, she grew until she was a seven foot tall goddess in a blue dress and a coat of goat's skin over her shoulders. Her face was stern and deadly and in her hand was a long staff that held a lotus flower at the very top.
Castillo and Reyna knelt, quickly getting over their shock and the rest of the romans followed them, Percy just looked at all of them confused.
Hazel broke the silence, "Juno." She and Frank also fell to their knees leaving Percy the only one standing.
"Juno, huh" he said, "if I passed your test can i have my memory and my life back"
The goddess smiled at him "in time, Percy Jackson, if you succeed here at camp. You have served well today, which is a good start. Maybe there is still hope for you yet" she then turned her attention to the kneeling Romans, "Romans, i present you the son of Neptune. For months he has been in slumber but now he is awake. His fate now rests in your hands. The feast of Fortuna comes quickly and Death must be unleashed if you are to stand any hope in the battle. Do not Gail me!"
Juno shimmered and disappeared. Percy looked over to Hazel and Frank hoping for some sort of explanation but they looked just as confused as Percy. Reyna approached Percy cautiously Castillo shortly following after, they examined him wearily, like he was about to attack them, Percy couldn't help but think that Reyna wanted to run her dagger through his body and that Castillo would whip him until he bled to death.
"So" Reyna said coldly, "a son of Neptune with the blessing of Juno has arrived", Castillo just looked dumbfounded "great, just what we needed" he added sarcastically.
"Look" Percy said, "my memory is a little fuzzy, um, gone actually. Do I know you two?"
Reyna hesitated, "I am Reyna, Praetor of the twelfth legion and..... no I don't know you", Castillo quickly covered up his expression and put on a happy face, "hello" he said waving slightly, "I'm Castillo member of the fifth cohort of the twelfth legion, sadly I don't know you, sorry"
The last part was a lie and Percy knew it, he could tell from their eyes. However, he knew if he brought it up in front of the soldiers, they would less than appreciate it.
"Hazel" Reyna said as she turned towards Hazel, "bring him inside. I want to question him at the principia, then take him to Octavian. We must consult the auguries before we are to decide what to do with him" she then turned to Castillo, "Castillo I want you to join Hazel and Percy" she ordered and Castillo ordered and went to stand next to Percy.
Know closer, Percy could take in the details of Castillo, he was a bit shorter than him but still tall. He had a lean, muscular build. He was a pale, sixteen year old boy who had mid-back length, wavy, black hair that was currently flowing down his back. He Jade bright, Jade green eyes that glowed in the sunlight. His face was soft but defined that gave a feeling of patience and generosity. After he took in his appearance he realised that Castillo noticed him staring.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer," he taunted with a smirk gracing his lips. Percy just blushed in embarrassment and quickly snapped his head away from Castillo. He got back on track, "what do you mean," He asked, "decide what to do with me?".
Reyna's hand tightened on her dagger. She was clearly not used to having her orders questioned, "before we accept anyone into camp, we must interrogate them and read the auguries. Juno said your fate is in our hands and we have to decide if she brought a new ally to camp Jupiter...." She looked at Percy like she find that doubtful, "or...' she continued, "a new enemy to kill."
Castillo looked over to Reyna, "come on Reyna, he just got here let's frighten him just yet" he told her, "we can do that inside the principia" he suggested like it was the most simplistic thing. Percy just looked at him with a face of shock and small betrayal.
"...fine..." Reyna agreed with reluctance.
