Knock Knock Knock
Is all I heard as I was waking up, "Come in..." I just barely grumbled out half asleep. "Mr. William, the lady and lord are expecting you." I heard Nikolai, my butler, say respectfully, waiting for my response. "Just.. Five more minutes Nikolai..." I once again grumbled out as a response "You said that five minutes ago sir." Nikolai responded in return, once again waiting. I sighed in response sitting up from my bed and stretching. "I did say that, didn't I?" I say more properly this time. i pick up my pocket watch which is resting on the dresser next to me. "hmmm... I'll need ten minutes to get ready Nikolai, please tell my parents for me." Nikolai simply nodded and left the room, closing the door behind him. I shifted my legs to the side and hung them off the side of the bed, I then let out a sigh. I plant my feet on the ground and once again stretch. I head over to my wardrobe pulling out my outfit for the day which mostly consisted of white, Dark blue, gold accents, and my brand new academy robe. I head over to my mirror fixing my collar on my shirt and straightening it out. I grab my pocket watch and I put it in the pocket of my shirt. After some time I once again check the mirror to see how I look. "not too shabby... First impressions shouldn't be too bad." After fixing up my hair and putting on my robe I check my watch. "well, two minutes to spare. cant do much in that time... might as well just head down." and that's exactly what I did.
After I open my door I'm greeted with a wide hallway. Paintings on the wall of previous family members, and Several art pieces on podiums along the hallway. I take a right and start walking on the red carpet, as my eyes wander the halls looking at old things I've seen thousands of times. walking past the many doors I turn right again heading down stairs. I walk into the main Living room of the house. I walk past all the furniture and head into the dinning room where I encounter my Mother and Father, along with my Brother. "Why good morning William!" I hear my father say to me as I walk in. "yes, good morning Father, you too Mother, Brother." I said to the table in response. "Good morning dear, come and join us for breakfast before you head off to the academy, wont you?" I hear my gentle voiced mother say to me. "of course I will." I walked up to my chair and sat in it, eating the food in front of me. "you excited to head off to that grand academy my boy?" I hear my dad ask me. I ponder on the question before responding. "a little bit... still a bit nervous about it all." I told my father, making him smile in response. "Ah, don't worry! you'll do great I'm sure of it! you're my son after all!" he lets out a hearty laugh, and I cant help but smile in response.
After that short conversation I continued eating as everyone had some small talk around the table. After finishing my meal I stayed to enjoy the time spent with my family. Nikolai had walked in gathering our attention. "Sorry for the intrusion Mister and Mrs. Cliffwell, but Mr. William's carriage is here." my father and mother simply nod to Nikolai and they look at me "Now have a good day alright my boy?" my father says "and do make some friends." my Mother followed up with. I get out of the chair and start leaving the room, I turn around and wave to everyone. "I will do both of those things! I'm off now!" I turn around and follow Nikolai out of the mansion. He guides me to the carriage and opens the door for me "have a good day young master." I get into the carriage and turn to Nikolai to respond but he had already closed the door and walked away. so I just faced the other window as the carriage starts heading off. I watch as we pass by all the common folk and the market stalls. I appreciate the current state of the town, acknowledging all that my father has done to make sure everyone had their share of a happy life.
after a short while we arrive in front of the Academy building and the carriage stops. I step out and admire the building. it was definitely big to say the least. it seemed that it could have up to 3 floors, not including the spires. Glass windows with a variety of colors, most of it primarily being blue. Bricks showing no sign of age, grass perfectly mowed, it all seemed perfectly ideal for an academy held in high regard for their teachings and students.
