Inky black twirled around her ankle and slowly crept up her leg. A figure appeared in front of her, back turned. Threaded through the strange creatures hair were blood red pearls. The girl opened her mouth in a silent scream as the figure turned. A mermaid with deep inky black hair and a single piercing blue eye stared back at her , a deadly smile crept across her porcelain skin. The girls hands shook as she pulled at the hair climbing her leg, her eyes wide and filled with terror. The hair continued to climb her body before resting in a coil around her neck. She clawed at her neck, coughing making the last of her air form bubbles and float to the surface. Her body went limp. The mermaid grabbed the girls unconscious body and began towing her to the surface.
