Saiki knew better then to bring his weapons to school.

It's why he kept his main weapon in their weapons lock-up at the Merripen building. His knife was a different story. It was easier to conceal and most of the time it stayed in a hidden pocket he'd sewn into his bag. Saiki always transferred it into his pant pocket while he walked home though.

Just in case.

"I thought kids knew better than to walk through our territory alone"

Since when was that a thing? Some street gang must have claimed this part of Saiki's walk home.

How annoying.

"I don't want any trouble, sir"

The man looked to his buddy, grinning. They pulled Saiki into a alleyway. This one having no security cameras. Too bad for them. Saiki would hold back if there were cameras. Even with his ring on it wasn't hard to tell what they were thinking. They were going to mug Saiki. Maybe even try to make an example of him.

But Saiki wasn't having any of that.

"This will not end well for you"

"That sounds a bit like a threat to me, doesn't it B?"

The other gangster, apparently called B, seemed to agree with his friend.

"Big talk for a punk kid"

"Yeah, what are you gonna do to us. Huh?"

He really didn't feel like letting them push his buttons like this. So he didn't. Saiki kicked the legs of the gangster to the right of him, sending him to the ground. Then Saiki had the other one pinned to the wall by knife point and neither had even seen it coming.

"You were saying?"

"H-hey we were just messing around"

"Yeah, let him go!"

"Why should I?"

Both men panicked. They were unarmed. Here they thought Saiki would be an easy target. They couldn't have been more wrong.

But Saiki understood why, he wasn't exactly the most intimidating at first glance.

"Just let him go, we weren't gonna do anything!"

"I don't enjoy being lied to"

"Come on man, just let him go"

Saiki was feeling merciful that day.

"Let this be a warning. Next time I won't be nice enough to let you go"

"I-"

"Don't let this happen again"

Then he let the man go, noticing the tiny cut the man had received. Oh well.

Then he wiped the blood off his knife with his handkerchief and put both things away. He stretched casually.

What a boring day.

Meanwhile, Takahashi who'd been in the area stood in shock at what he'd just seen.

What the hell was that?

————

Word of what Takahashi had seen spread like wildfire.

Of course it did, the boy couldn't keep his mouth shut if his life depended on it. But not everyone believed it and that's why Saiki did nothing about it. Why would he? It would seem more suspicious if someone knew Saiki was actively trying to stop it from spreading. So he just didn't comment on it.
