Generation Zero: The Rise of Robots

Chapter 1

I cleaned the insides of my Möller PP. The amuntition all over the table. The Field Radio on the table near me turned on. 

'Wolf-144 is covering the the Archipelago Region, near Stenhaga Farm." Then static. Whoever is sending out these messages may be behind it.

I heard a loud crash, then a moter rolling. I looked at Zach and opened the barn door. 

I scanned the wolf.

Wolves  are spider-like vehicles comprised of a long, armored, truck-like body with a thorax and four "legs" underneath. Attached to each of these legs is a pod with treads, which the Wolf uses to locomote in its "tank mode" with the legs retracted. In "assault mode", the thorax where all the legs attach to has a minigun mounted underneath it.

"It can release gas. Get your masks on." Zach said.

I put on my gas mask and grabbed my gun, scooping up my ammo and putting it in my extended mag.

I got it ready, pusing the top back till it clicks.

I heard scanners, the clicking surrounding the barn. "Shh. Be quiet." I whispered.

I grabbed my hunting rifle, something I found on my journey. I put the rifle silencer on it and opened the door just a crack.

5 runners, 1 Wolf, and 3 hunters. I told the team.

"I can shoot the barrels of the runners. They would explode and maybe damage the Wolf." I explained.

"We've trained for this Y/N." Zach smiled. I smiled too.

I looked at how close the runners are. The runners are surrounding the Wolf. I can shoot one and there will be a whole chain reaction.

One of the runners looked around rapidly, looking for anyone who would try to attack them. The other leaned back, exposing their barrel. I held my breath and shot the runner. The explosion blinded me and my ears rang.

The hunters growled and looked around. The Wolf jumped around. I quickly closed the door.

"I got 'em, but the hunters are looking for us."

"The wolf?"

"Still walking. I think I took something out though."

Zach nodded.

"Vanesse, stay here. You are still injured."

Vanesse nodded.

I took out my Automatgevär 4 off my back, the cold metal greeting me.

"Ready?" I nodded.

We opened the door and started shooting the hunters. The hunters aimed at us and fired, their machine guns rattling.

I ducked one, aimed at my head, and shot a hunter in the box on the right side of his head. The hunter shook his head. Zach grabbed a granade and threw it. It exploded and the hunters subcumbed to it.

The Wolf began shooting at us with its gatling gun. I used the tractor to block the bullets. Zach threw a granade at me and I pulled the pin, and threw it at the Wolf.

It exploded. The rest of the hunters began chasing us. I ran to the barn, waited for Zach, and shut the door. The door bend and groaned as the hunters rammed their head into the barn door.

"We need to get out of here!" I exclaimed.

"Right." Zach looked around, before gas seeped through the crack of the barn doors. I coughed and put my mask on.

I saw a crack of the wall, in the side. It was there when we came.

"Over here!"

I pried open the wood, gently, not making any sound. The wood fell, and I crawled through the crack. I climbed down, and sneaked. The others did the same.

I vaulted over the fence and we ran far away from the Wolf's grasp.

It wasn't long before the sun came down.

We made a campfire and sat there.

"What are we going to do now?"
