The sound of the school bell indicating the students class was over, snuck its way into my ear. I was immediately awoken from my during school nap. I began to gather my stuff lethargically and by the time i had all my books in hand the other students were on there way to there next class.

To no surprise me bestfriend who i had know since kindergarten when we both were sent to the nurse for swallowing a lego, Sammy was waiting anxiously at the exit of first period class.

"So how was your first class?"

"I wouldnt know i slept through the whole damn class." I mummbled while rubbing my eye to try to wake up more.

"Were you up all night with Jake? Poor kid, he is only 11 and is dealing with his mother in the hospital with cancer."

"He was all half the night crying by the time i fell asleep my alarm clock went off for school. I just hope the cancer isnt to far along to stop. We lost our dad 9 years ago when we left, we dont nees to loose our mom" My anger began to grow while also trying to hold back tears remembering how my father just left me jake and my mother.

Trying to change the subject of my dad, as she saw me getting worked up she quickly added, "Speaking of ypur mother yesterday you visited her..." she paused waiting for me to agree i did so with a nod. " Did you tell her yet?" She finished off arching an eyebrow at me.

"No, ive been meaning to. i just cant get the words out of my mouth, 'mom i like girls, im gay' why is it so hard to say to her?" The topic of gay never came up so i dont know where she stands when it comes to that kindof stuff.

"Well if you want i can come with you and jake tp visit her today and we can tell her together." She said smiling warmly at me.

"Thanks but no thanks i nees to do this on my own. well we better be getting to class, c'ya later alligator."

"In a while crocadile" She shouted down the hall way in the distance. Thatt had been our thing ever since we were kids.
