Chapter 1 – A World Built On Dreams

Hannes' world was built on dreams. Ever since he was a young boy, he aspired to make a mark in the medical world through his passion for technology. In grade eleven, he found himself engrossed in physics, biology, and technical drawing classes, where he could let his imagination soar. The thought of combining IT with medicine fascinated him, and he felt destined to bring change to the world.

Behind Hannes' seemingly bright exterior lay the shadows of silence. He carried a secret burden, a verbally abusive girlfriend named Rachel. No one in his small friend group knew about the torment he endured daily. The fear of judgment and isolation kept him from seeking help. He couldn't bear to admit that the love he once thought was pure had become a suffocating cage.

Hannes' academic achievements in primary school had raised the expectations of his parents to seemingly insurmountable heights. They envisioned him attending the best universities, becoming a renowned medical IT specialist, and paving the way for a bright future. The weight of their aspirations added to his silent struggles, leading him to put up a facade of success.

Gaming became Hannes' escape from reality. In the virtual worlds, he could be a hero, a warrior, and all the things he yearned to be. Gaming was where he felt truly confident and in control. Little did he know that this passion would lead him to unexpected encounters that would change his life forever.

Feeling the need to break free from the chains that bound him, Hannes took up boxing. The discipline and confidence he gained from this physical pursuit slowly began to seep into other aspects of his life. Through boxing, he found strength and courage, realizing that he was capable of standing up for himself

Chapter 2 - A Masked Encounter

As the bell rang, signaling the start of another school year, Hannes found himself sitting in his biology class, flipping through the pages of his textbook absentmindedly. The excitement of grade 11 had faded into routine, and he longed for something to break the monotony of his days. Little did he know that change was just around the corner.

As the teacher began the lesson, the classroom door creaked open, drawing everyone's attention. A girl named Monique, with a mask covering the lower half of her face, walked in. Her large glasses framed her eyes, adding a touch of mystery to her appearance. Two long braids cascaded down her back, swaying slightly with each step. She moved with an air of confidence that caught Hannes' attention.

Intrigued, Hannes couldn't help but steal glances at Monique throughout the lesson. Who was she? Why did she wear the mask? Questions filled his mind, but he didn't want to seem intrusive by asking. He wondered if she was new to the school or just someone he had never noticed before.

During a brief moment when the teacher turned away to write on the whiteboard, their eyes met. Hannes quickly averted his gaze, cheeks flushing with embarrassment at being caught staring. To his surprise, Monique smiled behind her mask, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

As the class progressed, Hannes felt a sense of connection to Monique. He could relate to her, feeling like he was hiding parts of himself behind a facade of success. It was as if she understood his silent struggles without him saying a word.

When the bell finally rang, signaling the end of the class, Monique gathered her belongings and started to leave. Hannes felt a tug at his heart, not wanting the encounter to end so abruptly. Summoning courage, he decided to seize the moment.

"Hey," he called out, a hint of nervousness in his voice. "I'm Hannes. I don't think we've met before."

Monique turned to face him, her smile still hidden behind the mask. "Hi, Hannes. I'm Monique," she replied, her voice warm and inviting.
