Filling my planner with millions of my thoughts, words, and colors is by far one of my favorite hobbies. Capping the last of my pens I turn to look at the clock in the break room when someone in the doorway catches my eye.
"You on break?" Kai asks. His tall muscular build leans against the door frame and if I'm not mistaken, my body visibly melts in my chair.
"I am for three more minutes." I say pointing at the clock with my pen before continuing to pack up my things.
"I was wondering if-" Kai confides as he walks into the room but quickly gets interrupted by the rest of the group. That is one thing with the guys, privacy is an unheard of word.
"Goldy! I've been looking all over for you!" Caden exclaims running into the room and swooping me off of my chair.
"Hi, Tanner." I reply uncontrollably laughing.
"Let's get you some food, hm?" He responds carrying me back into the main floor of the shop.
Setting me down on the countertop, Soph quickly hops up next to me and nudges my shoulder.
"Hi, Aug. Missed you." She whispers.
"Hi Soph. I was only on break for fifteen minutes, but I missed you more." I whisper back.
"What do you girls want to do for lunch?" Ford asks walking up to us and tapping his fingers on our knees.
"What am I a drum set?" Soph says squirming at his touch and giggling.
"No you're hungry, and I'm here to feed you."
"No, I'm Soph and you're here to get on my nerves." She responds sarcastically.
She walks to the front door to flip the sign to 'Temporarily Closed' and I help out by walking over to the back tables to replace the clothing old clothing with our new inventory.
"So we're all going out to lunch together?" Kai asks sneaking up on me. I jump at his presence unaware he was behind me but try to quickly laugh off the embarrassment. Even though I know it will replay in my head for the rest of the day.
"Yeah we always do, is there something wrong with that?" I ask in response.
"Well no. I was just thinking you and I could go grab something." Kai says more nervously. I giggle at the cute gesture and continue to pick up the denim shorts and pants from the table.
"Like together. Just you and I-"
"I know what you mean, Kai." I cut him off holding back the laugh that wants to escape my lips. "But I can't. It's not in my schedule." I respond truthfully.
"Schedule? Like a planner? What are you some kind of celebrity?" He asks teasing, I try not to take offense to it and leave him with a small grin instead.
Walking back to the main floor of the shop I pile the clothes on top of the counter and decide to deal with it when I get back.
"We had Shake Shack last week!" Soph whines dropping her head to her chest.
"It's not my fault they make good ass food!" Caden replies pleading with his hand.
"Tanner, we all know you only like going there for the girl at the register." Ford laughs patting Caden's shoulder and shaking his head in disbelief. Soph and I both exchange a look and giggle because we both know Ford is right.
"Careful don't put on too big of a smile." Soph whispers nudging me in Jack's direction. I bring my eyes up to him and his face is the most stone cold I've ever seen it.
"What's up his ass?" I ask in a low enough tone for only her to hear, as I look back over my shoulder at her.
"Nope. Love squares don't make sense! Go figure it out yourself." She replies shaking her head and walking away. I look at her confused but decide to see what's wrong with Jack anyways.
