Avenger Babies: Daycare !

For a long time, there had only been 8 kids who had been attending this daycare during the day. And for the most part, they all got along well!
There were only three five year olds, Thor, Bucky, and Steve. Then there were the four year olds, Tony, Sam, Natasha, Clint, and Bruce.

But one day, something was different.
A new kid was coming in!

During morning time, they all gathered on a huge carpet to meet the new kid. The suspense was killing the toddlers.

Tony raised his hand, "When is the new kid comin'?! I wanna go play now!" He whined, he wasn't the most patient out of the bunch.
Clint eagerly nodded in agreement, "Yeah! Are we gonna be here all day?! Or night!?"

Maria gave them a stern look, she was one of the employees at the daycare. It was usually her job to make sure they were okay during the morning, then she would switch with her coworker Phill.
"You two need to be patient. The new kid will be here soon enough."

Bruce raised his hand, "Ms. Maria?"

"Yes, Bruce?"

"Where Thor? Is he gone today?"
He asked curiously, the rest of the toddlers started to look around the carpet, noticing the same thing as Bruce now.

"Oh yeah! I hope he isn't sick."
Steve added, feeling worried for the fellow blonde.

"No, no. Thor's not sick. He's here, he's just helping the new playmate feel less shy."

As on cue, Thor opened the door from the Nap Time room, the kids gasped when they saw who was holding his hand.

"Good morning friends! Ms. Maria has allowed me to introduce someone very, very special!"
Thor announced while walking to the front of the carpet with his friend in hand.

"This is my dear brother, Loki!"
He said with a giggle.

Loki had vibrant green eyes, and long black hair. Almost the same length as Thor's hair. The toddlers also noticed that Loki and Thor were watching matching shirts. Thor's was yellow and had a "T" in the middle, while Loki's was green and had a "L" in the middle.

"Introduce yourself brother!"

Loki looked around the room, he could tell all eyes were on him. It made him feel.. nervous. Even after Thor's small pep talk earlier, his nerves were still unsettled.

"Hi."
Is all he said before going behind Thor's back to hide. His antics made Thor confused,
"You mustn't be shy, brother! These people are kind. Right Ms. Maria?"

"Your brother's right, Loki. Everyone's been excited to see you all morning. As a matter of fact, can you guys say hello to Loki?"
Maria asked, the kids eagerly shouted a "Good Morning" to their new playmate.

Loki peeked from his brother's shoulder, he still felt scared. But Thor promised him that he wouldn't leave his side, and Thor never broke his promises.
So he took a deep breath, and went by Thor's side again, holding his hand tight.

He waved his open hand to the kids sitting in-front of him, "Good mworning."

"Do you guys have any questions for Loki?"

Almost all of the kids raised their hands.
Making Maria chuckle, "Lets just stick to three questions for now. Loki can pick."

Loki's eyes instantly went to the kid who was trying to hold up his hand, it made him giggle.
He pointed to him, it was Tony.

"How old are you?"
He asked.

Loki held up three fingers, "I three. B-but I turn this many soon." He then held up four fingers.
The kids made an "oo" sound at his answer.

He then pointed to the only girl at this daycare, it was Natasha.
"What your favorite color?"
She asked.

"Gween."

For his final question, he pointed to the boy who had a navy blue shirt on with multiple dinosaurs. It was Sam.

"What's your favorite game to play?"
He asked.

Loki thought for a moment before answering, "I like to play with mwy stuffed kitty. It's in my bwackpack."

"Ooh, cool! Bucky also has a stuffed kitty!"
Sam added, Bucky nodded and showed his cat that was sitting on his lap. Loki managed to crack a smile, he already was starting to warm up to the fellow toddlers.

"Alright, that's all the questions for today."
Maria announced, getting up from her chair.
"Which means it's playtime. Play nice with each other, okay?"

"Yes Ms. Maria!"
The kids said in unison, and all the kids ran off into different parts of the room.
Leaving the brothers alone on the carpet.

"Shall we go play, brother? This place has tons of cool stuff! Like play dough! Have you heard of such a thing?"

Loki shook his head, "What that?"

Thor giggled, "I shall show you! Come on!"

Thor started to drag Loki around the play room. Loki couldn't help but stare in awe at how many toys there were. Of course, the brother had a lot of toys at home! But he loved how much variety there was.

Thor let go of Loki's hand for a minute as he searched through the play bin for some play-dough.
Loki waited anxiously for him to come back.

"Hey! Loki!"
Someone shouted, he turned around to see three people walk towards him. It was Bucky, Sam, and Steve.
"What are you guys gonna play?" Steve asked.

"Um.. my bwother said we gonna play with play dough."
He answered, Thor came back to Loki's side with his arms full of play dough cups.

"Indeed we are! Cmon friends, let's play together!"

The three boys happily agreed and sat down on the floor with Thor and Loki.
They each got to pick their colors: Thor picked blue, Loki picked green, Sam picked red, Steve picked yellow, and Bucky picked purple.

Loki opened the cup of play dough and stared, "Where's the toy?"
He turned to his brother for an answer.

Thor giggled, "Silly brother! This is the toy! Here I'll show you,"
He grabbed the cup from Loki and held it upside down so the dough can come out. It came out in seconds.

"Tada! Now you can make whatever you want with it. Like, like, a ball!"

"Or you can make something cooler like a house!"
Sam suggested.

Loki looked at the play dough with curious eyes. Grabbing it, he squeezed it through his hands. This texture was different, something he's never touched before. He enjoyed the squishiness of it, however!
So he stared to roll out the dough with his hands, watching it grow and grow all over the floor.

Once it was all rolled out, he giggled and put his hands in the dough, waving them around so it will leave a mark in it.
When he removed his hands, there was small hand prints imprinted on the dough.

He giggled and clapped his hands happily, "I all done! Bwother look what I did!"

Thor peeked over and smiled, "How cool! I like it."

Loki grabbed Thor's hand and pushed it through the play dough. He let go of his hand once there was another hand print imprinted.
"We did it!"
Loki giggled, he snuggled closer to his brother, feeling proud of himself for learning how to play with this new toy.

Thor laughed, "I love it! Mother and Father will love it too."

The other boys gasped, "I wanna make my mama one!"
Steve giggled as he started to roll out his dough.

"Me too! I'm gonna make my dad one."

"Imma make both my parents one!"

In a matter of seconds all of the boys started to follow Loki's steps and make their own little creations.

Loki started to feel happier at this place. After endless amounts of crying at home, he finally felt at ease here along with his brother.

As long as Thor was by his side, maybe this whole daycare place wouldn't be so bad.
