Chapter 29: All For One

David

Darkness.

That was the first thing that swamped David's vision the moment he stepped through Kurogiri's portal, the sensation of mist slithering along his skin being the only other thing he felt aside from the unconscious weight of the man he loathed slung over his shoulder. It felt so long since he experienced Kurogiri's Warp Gate, and once more David felt himself indebted to its nature and usage.

A quick getaway from a hero-saturated island. From All Might himself.

What a wonderful quirk you have, Kurogiri.

David smiled to himself before he stepped foot on something more solid, not even ten seconds after escaping. Just the mere thought of finally returning to Japan brought a wave of relief.

What wasn't a relief was the light groan Wolfram made as he stirred over David's shoulder. He fought the urge to roll his eyes as he walked silently through the strangely decrepit corridor, nothing more than the sound of his own footsteps resounding throughout, where the lights that lined it flickered with either age or neglect. Or perhaps it was a choice of aesthetic, in which case David would question who on earth would like that sort of thing. Quite the impression for this grand villain to make.

Nova's final words before he kindly departed resurfaced in his head. The desperate tone she took was certainly an experience, but the fear in her eyes was far different than what she showed during his... interrogation.

"LET HIM FACE HIS CRIMES! JUST... NOT UNDER HIM!"

"She really did not want me taking you to All For One... I wonder why?" David mulled over the potential ideas. Even if it was out of terror, Nova of all people sung his praises. "Oi, you up?"

I didn't hit him too hard, did I? The one time I want him to speak, and he doesn't even wake up...

Rather fortunately, his worries were unfounded as Wolfram stirred once again, this time giving out a pained groan upon coming to. David must have bashed his head in harder than he thought, though, as the villain made no attempt to escape his grasp. That, and the fact that he held him with a yellow tendril over one arm and had two green ones positioned over his palms guaranteed extra security.

Even now, David wasn't sure if he could juggle Metal Manipulation and Muscle Augmentation in his current state. Better be safe than sorry.

The Tendril user raised a brow at his continuous mumbling. "No else but me here, speak up already." David sighed exasperatedly.

"You've... yet to kill anyone, so adverse to it... and here you are about to sentence me to death." A dry chuckle escape Wolfram's mouth, though it wasn't even a snide remark at David. "Do you plan to always leave... the dirty work to someone else?"

"You shot me in the back, asshole. You think I'm just gonna let you get away so easily? Delivering you is just an added bonus anyway." David said.

"You didn't answer my question..."

"Everything that happened on I-Island is something I'm more than willing to take responsibility for. What All For One does to you for going against our agreement, while none of my concern, just adds to that pile."

David sighed at that, a light tremble in his tone. He knew full well that delivering this traitor to a man even All Might spoke negatively of, if his tone was anything to go off, was bound to end badly. He didn't even try convincing himself that it wouldn't be his doing. David just... didn't want to think about it right now.

So instead, he let his curiosity run for a bit, as he came face to face with a rundown elevator with only one functioning button. The rest were either pulled out or dead. "So... tell me who this All For One really is, Wolfram. Gotta make sure I make a good first impression if his reputation is something grand." David asked. The elevator gave out a quiet ding and he stepped inside, noting how much cleaner it was inside compared to the hallway he just walked in. "I mean, even Nova was scared shitless of him!" He laughed.
