I was chilling on the couch with Elena while Alex went to his room to take a call .
We've been hanging out a lot lately. Either at my place or here at his . Of course our moms didn't let us hang out alone in our rooms , so we'd be stuck in the living room being monitored.
"Shields up!" Elena yelled at the the TV screen "Let's move that payload! Go gladiators " She got up from the couch and mimicked the wave , Penelope doing the same from the table.
"So" Lydia started "You are not even playing this video game, your just watching these other nerds play the game?"she judged the teen girl
" This is the overwatch league ,it's the worlds top E athletes " Elena explained to her abuela
" E-Whocares " Lydia remarked making me giggle and Penelope stop her studying
" That sounds like a weak wristed knock ,Come in Leslie " Lydia yelled out
An older man quickly came into the small apartment , panting and shaking his hand
" Hi everybody!" He greeted "Exciting news! I got two extra tickets to the opera for this weekend " he announced with glee , hoping for the family to match his excitement.
In which in return, he got nothing
" Penelope, I was hoping if you and Mateo would want to come " he offered to the woman
" Thank you so much for the offer but I just cant, I'm completely swampt with disinterest" she said as she continued her studies
" Are you sure?" He questioned " opera-tunity only knocks once" he sang out
I let out a snort, laughing at the pun
He turned around to find the person who laughed and found me on the couch.
" I don't think we met before" he said as he moved towards "Hi! My name is Leslie" he introduced himself as he reached his hand out
I shook his hand and greeted him " Ah Leslie! I've heard a lot about you. I'm Maria! Alex's friend"
" That's a beautiful name " he complimented
" Thank you so much Leslie " i smiled at the older male
"Do you want some opera tickets?" He asked
I giggled and nicely declined " Sorry , I'm on babysitting duty this weekend "
"Maybe I can get those tickets " Elena said
" Since when did you get into the opera Elena?" Leslie asked intrigued
" Well I've been looking for an opera-tunity" Elena joked using the same pun " to go out on the town with my Syd-nificant other "
