Growing up in an orphanage is not pleasing to Nara, who has lived there since she was a baby. Not knowing her origin is indeed a painful reality for an orphan like her.
Now that fact is no longer always annoying to her; probably, she was already out there after she was 18 years old, and she managed to work as an office worker. Not a great job, but enough for her. She had finally found her place in the world.
A box full of things was placed on the table. "Ugh, sadly, you had to quit." Lili sighed.
"The signed contract has a reason, Lili." Nara put her last item in. "It's time to move on and chase our dreams."
That day was her last day at the place because her contract had expired.
"But why can't they just extend the long-term contract of yours?" Lili frowned.
"Of course, they don't... I'm probably not good in their eyes." Nara rolled her eyes. It's normal in their community. "You have been working here for 3 years; you are efficient in your work, and you have never taken any leave. What do they want?" Lili shook her head while helping Nara put her things inside her boxes.
"Maybe this place is not my place; maybe my competence does not fit here," Nara whispered to Lili, and we laughed together after that.
"That's right, I'm sure the next person after you is a person who wears a tight, short dress and her butt is on top. I'm sure during lunchtime after this, she will be busy in the CEO's office." Lili groaned, and it made Nara laugh.
"Why do you think so? Because our CEO is still single?." Nara smiled as she placed the tape on top of her box to make it secure so her things wouldn't fall out.
"Not only that, please... You check the record with me. More and more prospective employees are good at work, but they are just choosing a group of women with thick make-up and less experience at work." Lili explained.
"You can't judge without meeting them like that; you have never met her yet." Nara replied. "Kak Nara, you are too kind, and you are also beautiful! Why do they have to end your work contract too quickly?" Nara pleaded.
"They did not terminate my contract; my contract term is only three years. I signed to work for only up to three years." Nara sighed. After her work desk was clean, Nara opened her arm and offered Lili a hug, which Lili happily accepted.
"I will miss you." Nara patted Lili's back. Lili pouted her lips. "Don't make me cry, and... me too; let's go out to eat another day." Lili complained. "Hm, see you later." Nara smile before lifting her box.

"Ugh, agh! My back hurts." Nara cried as she placed the box on the couch. She let her body fall down on the couch. Nara had just moved into another apartment. After quitting her job, Nara rents a new place.
"I hope this is worth it," she sighed while staring up at the ceiling. As Nara lay on the couch, staring up at the ceiling with her back still aching, she reminded herself that this new apartment represented the start of a fresh chapter in her life, and she was determined to make it worth it.
"This is just the beginning; don't give up, Nara," she whispers to herself.
Ting!
Her phone on the coffee's table buzzed up. Nara lazily sat up and reached for her phone.
"Oh? Job vacancy?." She immediately clicked on the link. She has tried to find a new job, but still, recently, no news has reached her.
"Yes, it's okay; I understand. Yes," she said, ending the call.
