"Are you okay, Lix?" Chan asked worriedly, setting a gentle hand on the elytrian's arm.

Felix nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine."

Chan shook his head. "No, you're not."

Felix felt something wet drip on his hands and the dirt below him, and that's when he realized he was crying.

Chan reached over and pulled Felix into a hug, and Felix finally broke, sobbing into Chan's shirt. Chan reached up and started to run his fingers through Felix's hair, earning a teary sigh from the elytrian. Felix's wings were shaking with each sob he let out.

"Oh, Lix, you're shaking." Chan whispered sadly.

Felix shook his head. "I'm fine- I'm fine."

Chan sighed. "You're not fine, Lix," He murmured, "and you don't have to be. That was scary."

"Why do they hate us so much? What did we ever do to them?" Felix whispered, sounding a lot like the kid he never got to be and still was.

Chan shook his head slowly. "I don't think we did anything. They hate us because they're selfish."

He continued, "The only reason they even tolerated us was our magic, and when we lost that, we lost our use. So instead of extending kindness to us, they essentially condemned us. None of this would be happening if we still had magic."

"My head hurts." Felix whined. He laid all his weight on Chan and the vampire was forced to let go of him. The elytrian fell down into the vampire's lap, and when he landed on his right wing, he yelped.

Chan's eyes widened, "Felix, why didn't you say something about your wing?"

Felix shook his head. "I didn't even know it was hurt."

Chan turned, scanning the shore for their healer. "Astraea! Felix hurt his wing!"

Astraea's head shot up from where she was cuddled up against Sakura as the two of them watched Solaria and Archer. She was tangled in the merling's arms with Sakura's tail wrapped around her.

"Sorry, my love." She whispered, moving herself out of Saturday's arms. The merling whined but let her go and Astraea walked quickly over to her brother.

"What happened, exactly?" She questioned as Chan helped Felix sit up without jostling his wings.

Chan answered, "He must have hit his wing on something."

Astraea kneeled down behind Felix, running her hands up and down each wing. Felix didn't react when she touched the left except for his wing shaking once. She turned to the right wing, and when she touched a certain spot, Felix whimpered in pain. Astraea's wings fluttered in response to her brother's pain.

Astraea nodded and asked, "Can you tell me exactly where it hurts?"

Felix nodded and reached behind himself, pointing to two different spots on his wing, the very middle, and the place where his wing met his shoulder blade.

Astraea examined those spots and nodded. "It's nothing too bad. You just sprained your connecting joint and tore a few scales. We'll have to bind your wing, but with some potions it should heal in a few days." Felix let out a small sigh of relief.

Astraea called Pandora over and the fairy came with Astraea's traveling medic bag. It was slightly soaked, but the supplies inside were fairly dry. Astraea took some bandages and began to bind Felix's wing to his body.

"Not too tight?" She questioned once she was done.

Felix shook his head. "It's perfect. Thank you, Star."
